My advice is just wait for some reviews on the P2350 first. It was just released so just wait a bit of time for some early adopters/review sites to share their findings first. You never know if there what kind of issues can crop up. There's also the issue of lag time since you're primarily gaming.

ok and from what i understand the dell has a slower response time? Also the dell is 24" and the samsung 23"

Dell S2409W has an average input lag of less than 16MS. That's less than 1FPS of lag. It also has HDMI. A connector that the Samsung lacks.

CNET gives it a pretty good review for a TN monitor. It beats out the BenQ 2400HD in image quality.

Really the only big known issue with the Dell is that there is a bug with HDMI audio playback to the monitor.

You can read more about it here.

Also right now Dell is offering $60 instant rebate on the S2409W, so you can pick it up for $219.

I don't know much about the Samsung 2350 myself. Just passing along some info.

I as well, would very much like to know which of these panels is better. They are both now $199!! I'm amazed how much LCD monitors have dropped in price the last few years.

The Dell is tempting, being $80 off with free shipping, but I'm a little concerned about their return policy. You must have at least six dead pixels on the LCD to return it :(

I have no experience with the Dell, only the Samsung. I bought one yesterday at Sam's Club and it's amazing. I can't believe it was only $200. The color and black levels are great. Also, NO DEAD PIXELS! My only gripe is that the stand is lacking a bit. Maybe it's standard these days but the last LCD I bought was a Dell 2001FP and it had a fully adjustable stand.

Unfortunately my local Sam's Club doesn't have the Samsung P2350's in stock, or on display, so I can't see it in person. I was able to look at the Dell S2409W, however, at the local Best Buy. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed in the Dell. It was sitting next to *I think* a Hanspree monitor which seemed much brighter. And the whites on the Dell seemed almost to have a yellow tint.

The Dell went back up to $219 yesterday :(

Nvidia101 - Have you made a decision yet?

Not to hijack Nvidia101's thread, but it seems that we are looking for the same type of monitor. If anyone has any more recommendations on monitors under $300 I'd appreciate it!

Yeah the 2001FP stand was amazing. Does the Samsung have VESA mounting?
