I'm just buying a pc for a family members business. And I'm looking at the dimension 3000 , looks good, cheap & and a free laser printer. Now I noticed the price shot up quite a bit when all i added was some ran (256 - 512), upgrade to winXp pro (the pc will handle accounts) and Norton AV.
I did'nt even look at the cost for the ram upgrade because its such a little amount. Now when I went back to it I noticed that the were charging £70 (~120 usd) for 256mb
What's more they make you use both Dimm slots so if you ever want to upgrade you have to throw the old ram away to upgrade.
Now is there any reason I should'nt go buy the ram from crucial?
