Dell P2715Q 4KHD IPS $498 FS (Reg. $699)

Regarding this actual deal - what a nightmare dealing with Dell customer support. Is it always this bad? Haven't ordered anything from them in years or had cause to interact with them until today. There's three hours of my life I won't get back. Placed an order yesterday with next day delivery due on Thursday. Of course, the monitor is stuck "in production" all day today, making the odds of delivery next day very slim. Never ever attempt to chat with Dell reps because they know nothing and can do nothing. If you want to cancel the order, they can't help you because that's handled by "return specialists." "Do you want me to transfer the chat to them?" Click - chat disconnected - thank you, we hope you return again! Call the returns department by phone? Welcome to an hour on hold!

I had a similarly poor experience. I was on their online chat and phone support for around 2.5 hours the day I ordered the monitor. During the time, the service reps kept telling me that my orders weren't going through. Per their instructions, I submitted the order 3 times, with the final one working according to them. As to be expected, I now have 3 monitors being sent to me. I was able to cancel one over the phone, but it was not easy. Still need to cancel one more but I don't feel like spending another hour on the phone.

I hear you. I always wondered why Windows can't scale. Your browsers can all do it well and so can OSX.

Small for 4k.

Agreed.

I'm finding 32" 2K to be the perfect size monitor. This Acer I got for $400 is just awesome.

I think you need to be in the upper 40's minimum to effectively use 4K as a desktop monitor.

Well at some point you don't want 100% DPI anymore. 27" @ 4K means you're boosting the DPI in odd values to get a good "real-estate to quality" ratio. 27" @ -5K- might actually work out better, cuz you can get a 2560x1440-like experience (good real estate) with higher-quality visuals, and you can still game at 2560x1440.

Finally got to set up mine with mid 2014 15" MacBook Pro and it's amazing. HiDPI modes worked out of the box, I'm running 2560x1440 HiDPI now and it looks really really good. Love OSX scaling!

I love this monitor

Perfect @ 3840x2160
