I bought 2 Optiplex GX280n systems back in April. Dell has been selling the "n" series (no OS) desktops since 2002 as mentioned in the article, so it's not exactly news.

I don't think the E510 specs are bad (recent 945G chipset, decent case, etc), but the price is bad. The video card cheap, but you can always upgrade it. If (a big IF) it goes on sale like the 2 GX280ns i bought ($270 & $280 shipped w/3 year warranties), it might be hot.
