1450.00 US dollars for a 3008FWP .....get them while they are hot

Enjoy................:D

i bought myself a 42" panny plasma & a doublesight 24" monitor for the same price this last week :D

but i wish i could have dropped 1500 on this monitor but my career hasnt taken off yet. sniff.

So, we just call this woman and tell her we would like one at this price and we're good to go?

Say hello lisa, I am xxx from xyz company and i would like to purchase a Dell3008 for under 1500.00 I was told to say "Mike " aka jacuzz1 from the Hardocp forums sent me

I called my Dell Enterprise rep from work. If your enterprise is on good terms with them, they can hook you up for around $1,200 it looks like. That's only what he said he could do for me, otherwise, best he could do was $1,510. Don't need to replace my 3 3007's yet, so I passed.

Awesome post!

Just spoke to Lisa and placed my order for my 3008WFP! I previously had an order for one by using the 10% Dell Coupon but this deal was far better.

Do note however that Lisa asked me to pass along to folks reading this forum that she did get in trouble for the price she was offering. The price that I received was $1,550.

Still, it's a great deal and I just easily saved $400.

If you're considering getting this monitor don't hesitate to call Lisa. She is top-notch!

Thanks Mike!

Awfully tempting... One thing is certain, if the 3008 can be had for around $1500, it makes ZERO sense to buy any other 30" LCD.

Lisa was extremely nice but she also told me that she made a mistake on the original pricing and reiterated that she got in trouble as a result of the lower price. Best she would offer me is $1644. I didn't really press the issue. I passed. Maybe next time.

your welcome

Wish I had seen this thread earlier. Now I will need to wait until Monday and hope that I still get a good deal.

I ordered 3008WFP for $1,830 after a 10% coupon discount on a couple of weeks back. Now it seems like prices for this monitor are all over the place. If people are getting this monitor for $1,200 or $1,450 then it seems like the rest of us are just getting screwed by a few hundred bucks :(

I might just cancel my order and wait a few months if I don't get a good deal on Monday.

I would expect 3008WFP prices to drop to the same level as 3007WFP prices pretty quickly once the 3007WFP inventory is cleared. People who buy the 3008WFP now are paying a premium for having it early. If it's not worth the premium to you, then waiting makes sense.

Patience sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it usually pays off in the long run. :p

They wouldn't budge for me, I guess too many people have tried to take advantage of this because I was told there are no discounts available on the 3008wfp. It seems they don't have enough stock to fill the orders they already have something to do with some parts for the frame not being available so even if you order at the normal price who knows how long until you will get one. Would really have liked to get this monitor too as I am having a hard time adjusting to the awkward color shift on this damn 2707 I just bought. :(

If you'r not happy with the 2707, by all means return it for a refund. There is a lot of new LCDs comming out in the near future.

Thanks for the delay info on the 3008wfp. I want to see some more reviews on it before I throw down that much moola.

Given the way Dell is randomly pricing this monitor, I think its pretty much guaranteed that the prices will drop well below $2,034 and that too very quickly. I estimated that I was paying a reasonable premium of around $200 when I ordered this monitor a couple of weeks back, but given the random prices now I think that I am being robbed. Plus my order has already been delayed twice.

Its quite obvious that dell is having not just pricing problems with this thing but also manufacturing problems, so not sure how good the quality of initial batches of these monitors will be. I am planning to call them first thing tomorrow morning and cancel my order and then wait for NEC 3090WQXi to come out.

If you have $2000 or so to experiment with I suggest heading of to Vegas instead of ordering this monitor the way things are going.

Good luck and congratulations to those of you who managed to squeeze out a good deal from Dell.

I would hardly call 20 day moneyback gaurantee going to Vegas

In fairness to Dell, these pricing and availability issues are reminiscent of when they first released the 2405 in '05. That was the breakthrough new LCD on the market. Everyone was scrambling for info on it. I remember that time vividly because I was the first one on this forum to get a 2405 in my home. I was under a different name and lost my account info, but I had the 2405 before anyone else and I was the center of the universe for about a week until others got their own 2405. Those of you who took the initial plunge on the 3008 will get even more attention from the members, so ready yourselves. Give Dell a month or so to work out the kinks with this new 3008 release before losing patience with them.

Is it worth buying it at $1400??
I just called and they were willing at that price but I wanted it at $1200.. LOL

Still its around $100- $150 more for tax and shipping on top of that anways.

Several of the current 30"-ers are in the $1300 - $1400 range. If you could score the 3008 for $1400, break out your credit card before someone at Dell fires the rep who quoted that price!

Would anyone who got a $1,550 or better price for Dell 3008WFP monitor willing to PM me your order number?

The dell rep I talked to wouldn't give any discount, but said that they would be willing to "match" the price for me provided I gave them an order number with lower price on it.

Would really appreciate it if some of you who got good deals would be willing to PM me your order numbers.

I wouild if i could, I got an email this morning telling me there was a problem with my order. I should not have posted till mine was on the truck. Now they want to charge me 1640.00 .

I guess she got in some hot water for quoting me 1425.00 now i have to make a decision as to whether i even want it. 1425 was sweet. 1640 is good but i iwould hate to pay that and then find out its 1300 next month

Unless you've gotta really gotta have it now, I'd wait. You'll be not happy to see it for $1300 - $1400 a few months from today.

Yes me too please! I would love to get this monitor for a decent price but even with returning my 2707 for cash back they won't give me a deal and say noone is recieving discounts on this monitor. So I don't know who to believe this thread or Dell. If people really are getting deals on this monitor it would be nice to throw an order number in Dells face just to prove they were lying to me.

Thanks

She told be via eamil 1644 and change is the bottom line for everyone. She also said nobody got it cheaper and then apoligized to me for what happened. I told her not to worry it was my fault. I dont think she epected the response to be so strong and that number of screens caught her supervisors attention.

I just recieved a quote from Dell today for the 3008WFP. My company gets somewhat of a discount from Dell, though I'm not sure what it is specifically. The price came to $1723.38 with tax and 2nd day shipping. Cost for the monitor itself is $1545.00. I was hoping it would be a bit lower....looks like if I decide to get one of these I'll have to wait until the price comes down a bit. Maybe I'll just get the 24" Benq at over half the cost, especially because it seems that a single 8800GTX may not be able to run the 30" all that well.....decisions, decisions......

Wow, breaking a verbal contract isn't the best way to do business.. Maybe she shouldn't have offered you that price, but a contract is a contract. At the very least people should get the price quoted by the rep to them, and then offer it at the $1640 minimum to anybody else that asks.

I'll be thinking twice before shopping Dell in the future just reading this.. I'd hate to haggle something down to a price I can afford just to get an email later telling me I have to pay more later and then wind up outpriced and with nothing.

You know that does kind of suck maybe i should have my lawyer give Dell a call, i saved all the emails ........she is so nice I would feel bad getting her in trouble though
