dell 3007 intermittent signal issues

One of my dell 3007s has been intermittently losing signal. The screen goes blank and the blue power light goes amber. Often times it will start again after a few seconds. I have eliminated the possibility of it being a video card output or anything related to the physical connectivity.

Has anyone had this problem before? The way it cycles off and then back on without me doing anything suggests to me that it could be something chemical like a bad cap.

Best guess would be that your input or logic board is going bad. You could try buying one of the capacitor replacement kits for the logic board which would be much cheaper than a new logic board. If it is indeed the input going bad buying a new logic board is the most feasible option.
