I wasn't paying attention when I bought the system and noticed it doesn't have a optical out port. I already have my sound bar connected to the optical out on my TV so I guess I'm looking for a decent set of earbuds with a mic for my ps4.

Any suggestions on what to get? I don't need anything super fancy. I don't play cod anymore so I don't need surround sound, hence me looking at earbuds.

I've never bought a set of earbuds so I have no clue what's good to use with the ps4 slim. I see a lot of mention about the PS Vita earbuds, have any of you used these or suggest any others?

Only requirement is it has a mic and is under $100

Will your TV pass through the sound from the HDMI to the optical out? Seems like most will do that, so general sound via the sound bar shouldn't be an issue.

Past that - headphones - yeah, everyone has an opinion about that, and I don't have anything specific. Whatever you find comfortable and sounds good. I was still using the cheapy one that came with the PS4 plugged into the controller for voice until my dog decided to eat it, but I have pretty low standards when it comes to hearing crappily compressed noises of everyone yelling at their mothers.

What Brian_B said. If you connect your PS4 to the TV and have the TV connected to your soundbar it will pass through audio just fine. I have my Logitech Z-5500 connected to my TV this way and have all my consoles connected with HDMI to the TV.

Any other suggestions? I finally got my Amazon credit so I'm looking to buy asap

Hyper Cloud X
Either a USB headset or get a Hyper Cloud X, I use my Wireless corsair Void USB headset but on PS4 you cant adjust game volume or getmore than 2.1 over wireless if its not an official headset but I also use it for my computer so thats ok to me. For you I would go with a wired headset, corsair voids also have a wired version that works well and the Hyper Cloud series headsets are highly recommended.

Hyper X Cloud I is $80

Hyper X cloud II is $100

Corsair Void is $80, is comes with a USB adapter for PC use that allows for simulated surround sound but you can also unplug the USB portion and it turns into a 3.5mm jack that you can use on the PS4

for sheer quality and comfort I think the Hyper X Cloud II is the way to go, but if you want to use it for your PC as well I'd look at the Void
