Anybody ever get screwed over by Amazon Warehouse Deals? This guy certainly did, as he ordered a Switch and received a Wii instead. IIRC, Amazon Warehouse sells items that have been returned for a cheaper price. I would have thought that employees would actually check what was in the box before selling it again, but I guess not. Do you think Amazon would notice if I bought an HTC Vive and returned it with a View-Master?

DealSeeker2U, a user on CheapAssGamer.com's forums, recently ordered a Nintendo Switch from Amazon Warehouse deals for $269.99. You might note that this sucker retails for $299.99. Well anyway, he was delighted to receive his Nintendo Switch box. That's good, because that's about the only legitimate Nintendo Switch item he got. Stuffed inside was a dirty old crappy Wii, shoddily wrapped in static-free packing paper and bubble wrap. "'Inspected' my ass," says DealSeeker2U, and rightly so. "Everything was missing from the box and instead there was just a dirty Wii console."
 
LOL if you think store employees check anything. Also bullshit: "refurbished".
 
Wii would like to play..... Your new switch for you! In the meantime how about this book about "lol got ur stuffs"
 
I ordered a new asus 980 ti strix from amazon before and in the box there was an old 580, returned it with no problems though.
 
Sucks, but Amazon will refund this guy, they always do and are great.
 
I ordered a rework station and got it on warehouse deals because it said it was a new damaged packaging. It ended up being missing most of the accy, broken off knobs and inop. Needless to say they got a very nasty email and seller review. Really pissed me off to because I had planed on fixing something that day too.

I got a 670 instead of a 980. No problem with the return, though.
 
Won't be a problem returning it, Amazon will make it right.

I'm sure this was likely an employee who peaked in the box before going back to his Pokemon or other mobile app.

Shit is always going to happen. Things will not go right 100% of the time. So, yes, saying a company is great due to actually honoring their return policy is valid. 99% of the time things are going to go fine, but it's that 1% that sets the big difference when deciding if a company is good or not.
 
I was at an arcade in Mass. in a mall over the weekend that also moonlights as a competitive video game tournament hosting center in half of the building with dozens of seats and tables setup for events. They had Nintendo Wii's litearlly littered about on the floors, tabeles, on piles of cords, that looked like no one could give less of a shit about them. They had better security on their PlayStation 2 controllers than they did on the dozen or so Wiis that were seemingly tossed anywhere. I'd be pretty butthurt if I thought i was going to buy a switch and got a Wii instead.

The target up the street was completely sold out of all nintendo 3ds, Wii U, and Switch consoles when I checked it out also. They had about a dozen breath of the wild games for switch but none for wii U available.

I am sorry. I think I had a stroke while reading your post as I could have swore you said that you were just at a competitive video game tournament in 2017 that was using Wiis and PS2s for the consoles.

Any game can be competitive. They still play chess competitively. Graphics are really dated.

I do have to say that they don't do QC very well but their customer support is pretty damn good. My wife ordered me Assassin's Creed BF for Christmas 2 years ago and i eneded up getting Revelation (with the item tage saying BF) Called them and they sent me BF for free and never asked for the other game back just sent me Black Flag.
 
Hehe I ordered the NZXT Switch 810 from Warehouse Deals a few years ago. Description said that the package had a hole in it but contents were fine. Ok I'll bite. Get the case, yah there's the hole. Open it up...hole through the case's side window too. Sigh. In the end it got fixed and I got a small refund.
 
So stock error happened and amazon quickly took care of refunding his money. Welcome to the real world Mrdealfinder. I couldn't even remotely count how many times this has happened to me, not a big deal until the company responsible refuses to do anything about it. Mistakes happen, no such thing as 100%.
 
The Wii will be registered to someone. And if they pull that information and it matches a return on that amazon's customer account, that person is screwed. Amazon will black ball them and do a charge back along with Nintendo possibly deactivating the switch device if they are notified. But amazon will make it right.

They are supposed to check the serial number on the device and the box to see if they match to protect against these types of shenanigans. Somebody didn't do their job.

Some people are just dumb asses.

I doubt Amazon or anyone would go through the trouble. Who is to say that the Wii wasn't a dumpster find or if it even works. It's probably going to get written off and tossed in the trash.

Easy explanation: It's a case of $300 fraud. They have fraud and shrink-loss departments for a reason. If the jerk did it once, he'll do it again. Do you want to be cheated twice?
 
I just had a good experience from amazon deals.
Got a 1070 and only problem I can tell is the serial # sticker coming up. Not a spec of dust and the box seemed in normal condition.
I would of been okay though if they put a 1080 in there instead.
 
I blame dealseeker. He staged this to get a 2nd one for free.
