Dead power supply Fan??

Ok so i order a super micro chassis and i put it all together and it running. It really quite. I notice my fans not spinning in the power supply.


This mean my power supply fan no good and i need a new one or did i not hook something up to the motherboard correctly?

This would be a better question for General Hardware or even Power Supplies.

That said, if the machine powers up and the fan doesn't spin at all, it's probably just a dead fan in the PSU. There's a chance it is temperature controlled and will only kick on when it needs cooling (could be tested by leaving the thing running for an extended period), but I don't see that in many power supplies of that form factor. I'd just RMA the PSU and get yourself a nice, new shiny one.
