A rep for Koei Tecmo says that he’s aware of how the industry wishes to portray women in video games but that the company did not want to talk about such issues.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, the voyeuristic beach volleyball game, will not be released in the US or Europe due to its publisher's apparent concerns over how Western audiences will respond to its depictions of women. The game, which features a sun-tanning system and options to dress its full-figured characters in various costumes, is currently set for launch in Japan on PS Vita and PlayStation 4 in February 2016.

Does anyone even know what the DoA Xtreme game series were supposed to be about? I thought it was beach volleyball, but these games seem to be about female drama, dress up, breast physics, and all sorts of dumbass shit. I honestly don't think they need to cite any sexism issues as the game itself is just too damn dumb for western audiences. The average American male is not going to pay $60 for a game like this when they can spend a few minutes at Pornhub for free then go right back to Call of Duty.

The game is designed and aimed at people that love tits bounce while playing volleyball. It does not hide that, or pretend otherwise. I don't see a problem with that. as always, don't buy if you don't like.

ayame was a questionable girl under 18 but now they have a girl that they cant BS around she is under 18. They know they cant have her in the states in this type of game.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. I doubt it would have sold many copies anyway. If you really want to play it you can just import a copy, it will work on your US PS4 no problem. You guys all speak Japanese right?

Us intellectual PC Master PC will take a good game like Skyrim and add our own female drama, dress up, breast physics, and all sorts of dumbass shit. Japan is behind the times.

You obviously have never watched Game of Thrones, or played God of War, Thief (new one), Duke Nukem 3D, Sin, etc. etc. etc.

There are a lot more boobs out there than you think there are.

I agree that idea and juxtaposition is pretty crazy but this "game" looks horrible anyway so we aren't missing out on much. If you just want to see boobies there is a limitless supply on the internet.

I had DOAX for the first xBox and yeah it's way overpriced fanservice bounce engine nonsense but hey it was a volleyball game and that's a pretty marginal genre.

I only play it for the volleyball

... its not being released here because the publisher doesn't think it will be welcomed here. Probably a bs reason too and is most likely due to the game never selling well outside of Japan.

Not because someone in a political office said "no" to it.

Given our cultural moral decay within the past 8 years and the ridiculous hyper sensitive millennials who see "micro aggressions" and sexism in just about everything, objectification makes more sense.

My GF, then Wife then ex Wife played the first one on the 360 back in the day. Girls were sexualized back then as well.

I guess better graphics this time around did them in.

Well first off Game of Thrones gets away with it because it's a TV show that's clearly aimed at adults (and a lot of the nudity in it is CGI, btw) and the US still has a "video games are for kids" attitude. Secondly, you can have all the titties in your game that you want so long as you aren't flaunting them in the promotional material and inviting the ire of the feminazi's and their overly PC brethren.

God forbid anyone in the western world adopt a "it's not for me but whatever floats your boat" attitude towards entertainment.

“We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won't have any plan change in the future. with regard to how to treat female in video game industry, certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision”

Clearly they are struggling a bit with English, but I think its clear he's trying to say that he's gone through the SJW protest BS and as such doesn't want to even bother trying to promote the product in the West.

But many here on the forum insist that if we just ignore the SJWs, they will go away and a tiny vocal minority won't have any effect on the industry.

As a person who did nude photography for years I can tell you that America has more angst against a nude woman over various out factors out there. Mostly here in the south.

The second class citizenship they treat anyone who pose nude is scary.

They will go away if ignored. The problem is that the press does not ignore their stupidity. Because outraged stupid people make good press apparently.
