How is quality on the modern Klipsch ProMedias? I had a set gifted to me for Christmas 2001 (?) or thereabouts that died in 2017 which was a great run. I'm concerned that they've changed manufacturers and cut quality in the past twenty years.

They are still good when it comes to sound quality from I read. The are not as well built as they use too be. They are hard to beat for computer speakers for sub $100.

My set from 2003 died last year and I bought a brand new set months ago. Same great sound for the money. I have 2 additional sets on 2 other computers. Can’t speak for their durability yet on the replacements but they seem same build quality wise to me.

Picked up a set from walmart for $89.99 $96 out the door. Didnt need them but havent really been happy with the logitech z623s ive been using.
My original klipsch promedia 5.1s were killer until they died. Figured for less than it would cost to fix my 5.1s i would give these a try.

Check the brickseekers link up above. It will show you stock and price at Walmart near you. Only one near me had 6 in stock still at $70.
The one i went to said $50 but it was wrong. I wasnt complaining tho. It was still cheaper than costco 🙂

Amazing that these are still a thing. I threw my set out after getting some Swan powered monitors years ago.

Three of my local Walmarts have these in stock. Would it be better than my current Z623? I've had those things for many many years and would like something different.

I have seen mixed reviews on which is better. That said at Walmart's price you might as well give it a go.

You bastard. :p

I am too tired to try these out tonight so will set it up tomorrow. I guess it is alright to leave the cover off the speakers? They look much better without it.

Looking on that stock tracker I see that several Walmarts around me had them for $50 and even one had them for $25 but of course they are all out of stock. Walmart sure must be desperate to get rid of them.

Who needs the Costco return policy when you can just pick up two spares?

$50 is a really nice snag. $25 is just silly. Let's hope they just want to reclaim the shelf space.

Its also been a very long time now since walmart clearanced them so..

Walmart always cycles stuff throughout the year and clearance things out on a regular basis. This is not new.

Using the Z313's from Logitech - I know, I know... they're ... yeah... They do okay for the most part..... but they're just too god awful basey for anything. Even the lowest volume, my floor shakes... it's terrible lol

Just curious if anyone can tell me how much better these Klipsch would be over mine? I don't know if spending $60 just for a base mixer is worth it. But if the sound quality is far superior, I'll bite.

Damn, $50 bucks, that's like 4 trips to taco bell hahaha, sigh *cries*. But honestly pretty crazy, I paid 75 little while back, don't have anything to compare to but I really like them.

What in the hell are you buying at taco bell for 12.50 a visit?
