**DEAD** Asus GL702VS-DS74 17.3" laptop - GTX 1070 8GB , i7-7700HQ, 512gb SSD $1449

Beware! These particular Asus laptops run hot and are a pain in the butt to repaste. You'll need to remove the display and motherboard. The ram regardless of what the specs say will likely be single channel.

You will be getting good specs for the price and the likely 75 hz display will no doubt overclock to 100 hz. Just be prepared to see CPU temps that quickly get to 100c in something like BF1 multiplayer within 20-30 minutes.

You can always try xtu or throttlestop too.

Good luck!

These "slim" 15.6" asus 1070 laptops have a ton of complaints.

These are full fledged 1070s crammed into a slim chassis with piss poor cooling for the amount of heat the 1070 in these is going to throw out in such a confined space...

HOWEVER... shout out to Bleedblue12345 with 1 of the best gtx 1070 laptop deals I've ever seen... for 1 of the top rated best gtx 1070 gaming laptops.

This is the 17.3" model with a 120hz gsync display, looking at owners threads of the older model it looks like modifying the bottom panel, re pasting and undervolting will bring the temps down to an acceptable level.
