Super Talent 2X1GB 240-Pin DDR800/PC26400 Dual Channel Kit RAM (T800UX2GC5)

Will that work with a Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF PC w/ 3.00 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400) or
ASUS AM3 - AMD785G - DDR2 - HDMI - uATX Motherboard (M4A785-M) w/ AMD Athlon 64 5400+ 2.8GHz (ADO5400IAA5DO)? I have this memory laying around brand new. Might as well use it.

The HP uses DDR3. Won't work.

That AMD motherboard is DDR2, so should work. Just read the product description you already copied into your first post.

That processor works in that motherboard.

Thanks for the reply.

The HP (3.00 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400) has 4GB of of memory but 3 open slots. Is there even a benefit to upgrade the memory? I have the same question for the AMD but that has no open slots unfortunately.

For just web browsing? Not really. IT might make a difference if you're the type to keep hundreds of tabs open at once, but otherwise no.

You'll only see a benefit above 4gb if the operating system can take advantage of it. If you find something crashing on 4gb after a week, et al, more memory might help. Or it might not.

On a 32-bit os, it won't make a drop of difference since the os won't be able to see and/or use it.
