There are two batches of memory from G.SKILL that are roughly the same price:

$250 - DDR4 2800 (PC4-22400)
Timing 16-16-16-36
Cas Latency 16
Voltage 1.2V

$240 - DDR4 2666 (PC4-21300)
Timing 15-15-15-35
Cas Latency 15
Voltage 1.2V

Which will have better performance? The slightly higher clock speed, or the slightly lower CAS timing?

The only area I've found this to matter is RAMdisk performance. 2400 @ CL12 and 2666 @ CL14 trade blows for the best overall scores, while 2800 @ CL15 and 3000 @ CL17 laged considerably behind. Using Corsair LPX 2800 sticks, for reference.

The performance is so similar, just buy based on the prettier or more convenient heat spreaders.

I'm currently running my G.Skill 2800 CL16 DD4 @ 15-15-15-36-1T.

If the price is similar, I'd just go with the higher speed ram and run it at tighter timings.
