This memory is mine in my current rig. Couple with this mobo http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3628#sp and a 955 be, my question is I want to upgrade memory, case, psu, hsf at tax time would getting the exact same memory be more benifical or would be getting something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231439 be better. The reason i ask is because the lat is lower on the second memory mentioned but the -21 i am unsure of what that is.

Also would it adversly effect my system having 2 vastly different timmings of memory (albeit 2 dual channel kits).

Well, as rule of thumb - "DONT MIX MEMORY, UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO".

Mix memory may give you headache....

The new memory may not run at the lower latency...it will match the slower latency...

You be better to get the same one as you have right now.

oOkie dokie smokie. Ty for the help. But also what does the 8-8-8-24 mean The 24.

tRAS should be >="CAS" + "RAS to CAS Delay" + "RAS Precharge"

In your case your CAS = 8, RAS to CAS Delay = 8, RAS Precharge = 8 as well....the sum of all three = 24 which is your tRAS...

the tRAS should never be less than the sum of the other three timing....

That helps out quiet a bit. i was always confused on that, and my boss didn't have the info either....go figure

I am glad I can help...

Just like my friend, he is a programmer, but he know bare little about hardware...

Also would it adversly effect my system having 2 vastly different timmings of memory (albeit 2 dual channel kits).

Your system won't really be able to have 2 different timings. All the memory will run at the same speed, timings and voltage which can be set in bios. The specs on memory is what it is "rated" to run at essentially.

Ya understandable. I understand that the memory will clock to the same, but i just didn't want it to adversely effect my system doing it. So if i were to buy more memory the 88824 kit would be it, and if I wanted more memory then i should upgrade to dual channel 4gb per stick kits. But i am not doing heavy VM or video editing, so i think the 46 dollar kit
(The one i have already) should be fine. Thank you all for the help.
