DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Is it a 92mm fan you have below?
Just 80, but i only tested direct to psu,
so i can't say much more, fits well just every 80x10 below the case,
moves a lot of air but noisy at max speed,
i hope that should work at 50% and with low noise....

Question -- could you use the NCase M1's drive cage to mount a 3.5" drive in place of the 120mm AIO or the SFX PSU?

Also, it would be nice to have mounting holes for the bracket on the motherboard and rear GPU sections of the case too. Just in case someone wants to have GPU-less build with a dual rad or lots of 3.5" drives (if the above is true). And it would be nice to have it over the motherboard in case someone wants to mount a slim 120mm fan over a low profile cooler or something. Rare use cases, but we're only talking about having 4 extra holes. Then people can purchase additional brackets if they want.

Finished my v2 build.
Nothing exciting as it's a similar build to what a lot of people have posted but I sitll enjoyed building this a lot and I'm proud of it.
So let me share :D

CPU: i7-8700K (delidded and undervolted)

I'm building right now and concerned about the Asetek 545lc . The instructions online are incorrect and the pump isn't locked into the ring tightly. There's room for the pump to shift slightly when attached and screwed to the motherboard. Is this expected because it has me worried about the thermal paste becoming loose.

It should be locked tightly.

Great build! Excellent cable management. Just curious, can the L9i cool your delidded/undervolted 8700K at stock clocks? What's your VCore? What are your temps at full load?

Also, this may be weird to bring up here, but how do you like the DT 1990 Pros? I'm actually thinking of buying the same headphones. Are they too heavy and/or clampy? I'm using HD 558s now. What's your amp/dac?

Sorry, a ton of questions...

Yes, it can, and a lot of people in this thread has done the same.
Stock clocks and gaming temps hover around 70.

1990s are the best cans I've used, and I've tried more than I'd like to admit.
They're more comfortable than my previous daily driver, HD650s. They maybe a wee bit clampy but then I have a big-ish head.
No problem keeping them on for hours though.
Amp and DAC are a schiit stack, Modi 2U and Magni 2U (on the right side in the pictures)

Thanks very much for the info. :) I wish der8auer would release a direct die frame for 1151, would make a big difference in the A4-SFX and SFF in general.

I don't want to digress from the topic of the thread, but one last follow-up on the 1990s -- how's the weight coming from the HD 650s? Was it hard to adjust? The most common complaint I've heard is that they're heavy and weigh on your head. Can you wear them for as long as yours HD 650s no problem?

I don't agree that they feel heavier and I actually find them easier to wear for long periods than HD650s.

Are These custom cables? How did You Route the cables exactly?

Thank you

Hello there,

I had some time on my hands so I decided why not take some pictures and share them.

Build:

i7 7700K
Asus Strix Z270I
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3000
GTX 1080 Asus Strix
Be Quiet SFX-L 600W (Noctua A12x15 PWM controlled via Mainboard ChaFan)
Cooltek LP53 (Noctua A9x14 PWM)
CableMod Custom Length 24 Pin and 8 Pin

and a Samsung 960 Evo 1TB (not detected after Windows reinstall, RMAed)

Noctua all the things!
I thought about replacing the shroud of the GTX 1080 and put two A12x15 on it.
But all the 1080 I had (including this one), had terrible coil whine even with capped FPS, so it's not getting better with quieter fans.

In the end, the best fan to put down the case is the:

Noctua NF A9x14

Yes, it's a pain to mount, you should be VERY DELICATE withe the raiser, you have to extend at maximum...
And you should be SUPER VERY DELICATE when screwing motherboard in place...

you are doing it at your own risk, I do not take any responsibility, man advised !!!

Did you drill holes for the mounting?

My sf450 is the loudest thing in my case by far. Using a 1060 strix capped to 30% fan speed and l9i with low noise adapter.
Is there any hope for that fanless silverstone coming out soon?

keep hearing mixed opinons on corsair sfx...i have a silverstone sfx in my ncase m1 build..wanted to try the corsair in my a4

While that would be nice, I wouldn't count on it. A more realistic solution would be seen a few posts above. You can see a Be Quiet psu with a replaced fan in favor of a noctua one.

I replaced my SF600 fan for a slim noctua 92mm fan. You can either choose to plug it into the internal psu fan header (needs adapter), or you can route the fan cable directly to a motherboard header (I reccomend this so you can make sure the psu is getting propper air flow)

The only part I don't like about mine is the cables. Stiff, messy, and a bit too short. I tried to route my 24-pin behind the motherboard for clean aesthetics, but man it proved practically impossible with the corsair wires. They just never want to lay down flay and uniformly.

I am waiting for the SFX-L psu from EVGA, which should be based on the SuperFlower design. The Corsair cable are indeed really stiff and annoying to route, while the Silverstone 450w Gold Modular psu already had trouble running my PC build (see signature) after four years.

I would think about RMA'ing your PSU. Turn up the volume and hear the absolute silence of my SF600 in my previous build:

Sorry, didn't mention that it's only in gaming load. The pus is completely silent at idle. My system only pulls about 200-250w and in gaming load the psu keeps ramping up over 20 mins and gets very loud at the end, like 2.5k rpm or higher.

I can try replacing the sf450 fan with the one from l9i, but people have been saying that the caps inside psu can hold some charge for a week, I'm afraid of getting inside it :dead:

I get that. I actually bought some acrylic (non-conductive) tweezers because I was paranoid up first too. Something to consider

[[...] jeez, do you have to make it such a big deal?

The big deal is that by opening the casing of the PSU you not only void your 7-year Corsair warranty but possible risk an electric shock!
Not everyone wants to modify internal components.
A Corsair PSU that is not dead silent (even on full load) obviously - in my eyes - has an issue that is covered by Corsair's warranty.

I have a question for the folks who replaced the fan with a Noctua A9x14 on the SF450:
Did you use the FLX Version or PWM?
Do you have a "wobbling" fan on low load? (the fan spins up, but hasn't enough power to get going)
