Shifted the Vega's (3x) over to Mining ERGO. Using AMD Memory Tweak and TeamRed Miner which over doubled the hash rate compared to the other miners. Turned out to be tricky. Have to use P3 Pstate which lowers the SOC frequency, change memory timings. After trying dozens of other folks settings with doom and gloom following, I found one that worked, which then I started to experiment and fine tune. Anyways the Vega FEs are at 150mh/s and the Vega64LC is at 169mh/s. Their making over $4/day now, better than the 1080Ti's mining ETH. AMD Memory Tweak is fantastic! But only good for GDDR5 and HBM2 (HBM1 experimental) cards. The 5700XT got only around 87mh/s. The 3090 is around 220mh/s. GPU power as shown on the miner console window is around 150w per Vega GPU.

Now I am confused, what coin is this? XCH? Star Atlas? Mining? Hardware being used? Whatever your doing, looks like a nice few Golden penies.
Chia Coin mining with hard drives. this is not me, this is the top person/group in the pool.

This is mine and my friends, https://pool.space/account/0x10d236f4f9582f432bf3d3126755fd48714f625f156990b87393259abfb4af64
He bought 40TB of drives that I plotted for him on my 5900X setup and farming on an older Intel i3 NUC I bought so I didn't have to have the 5900X system running 24/7 since farming doesn't require much horse power.

Yep, new type of cloud computing, non centralized and impossible to audit. Wish a phone OS would use something like this for cloud storage.

really wish the 6600 were original MSRP right now. they would be the killer GPU for mining. low power and decent rates for a 300 dollar card?
There are some weird driver issues with the 6600xt right now mostly because the only driver out is a beta version. Often times the profiles fail on a reboot and you need to reset wattman, the 6700xt has no such issue so guessing it's the early drivers for now. Tuned it using more power tool for right around 100w at 47mh/s so happy with that for now...

Note the 3090's hashrate always dips by 3-10 Mh/s when display is on and PC is being used.

LHR she ain't, has red lips too lol. Probably gonna run the mining extension off a separate 650W PSU so I mine and game at the same time if needed ...

Two 2080Ti's, one Titan XP, and a (980 Titan Maxwell).

Not pictured: Titan X Pascal (newer architecture), one more 980 Titan Maxwell.

I'm thinking of putting the stock coolers back on the two Titan X Maxwell's if possible and selling them. I'll disable all but one core on the CPU; My friend is letting me borrow all of this, so I'm lucky to have this as it is.

Cost per Kilowatt Hr around here I think is around 0.20 cents.

So I could maybe get two 2080Ti's and a Pascal Running. I don't think the Maxwell cards are worth running.

Which coin is still profitable to mine with these? I have all the water cooling gear.

Never seen a water cooled mining rig, cool! I would think Ethereum is still king on both Turing and Pascal. You can check using What To Mine if any coin becomes more profitable, you can plug in your 20 cent/kw into the chart as well.

Setting up two PSUs was a bit tricky and took more time to get the wiring right than I thought but finally broke the 300 Mh/s barrier :

Half the farm pictured here, built mostly in 2019-2020. Also have some 7 and 12nm ryzens running, though they arent nearly as profitable as the gpu's

Good question. During the summer I keep all my rigs in my shop building. I added this intake fan:

shopfilter-20.JPG

Filters added:

shopfilter-22.JPG

And this exhaust fan:

shop-exhaust-16.JPG

The intake fan blows air across the shelving holding the miners which is then sucked out by the exhaust fan.

shopwalls-01.JPG

Once winter gets here, I move the rigs up into the house to keep it warm during the winter so that I don't have to run the heat pump. I in fact have to keep windows open to keep it from getting too hot except on extremely cold days. Been doing this since summer of 2017.

The best part is that my power is free since I installed a 50 kWh solar farm back in 2016 just before I started mining:

Nice. I saw a crypto mining location in Iceland that has about 1MW of power consumption in a barn about that size. Would be quite a lot of income despite the small footprint. For keeping everything powered I was looking into hydropower eventually at some point. Pelton wheels and turgo wheels make a surprising amount of power even off of small streams. Solar would be cool too but it's just a long payoff time and takes up a little more space. Right now I have about ~1.5GH in my basement but it's getting too warm and ventilation is always a problem. I definitely want to move it all into a separate enclosure like that one day where I can just keep everything at outdoor temps and use large amounts of airflow to keep everything cool.

I knew that looked familiar. Really cool setup man.

For anyone else curious

holy shit, I watched this on youtube back in the day. Didn't know this was a [H] member.

man you guys make my junk builds look insignificant. i am just barely poking 50$ a day depending on value. all mining ETH at Nanopool.

this is the only rig that i built with the intention of being a mining rig since like 2017. it has 4 dell branded 2080 super cards. 42mh and 112w per card. an 890fxa msi board, and an athlon 250u. this thing only uses about 500w. this rig uses dual SATA to PCIE power connectors to the risers, so they actually are within spec also.
IMG_20210915_164839.jpg

This is my 'anything that will mine' build. 970fx board, it WAS an OLD gaming PC that i pulled apart and i built the frame out of a dishwasher carton. 1070, 1080ti, 1060 6gb, 2x different 2060 supers, 1 of them is down on the MB. this is my least efficient rig, still very profitable, 170mh at 900w. this rig has a couple of the chinese sata to 6 pin pcie connectors, i have actually melted the connector off those before so i keep a pretty close eye on them.
IMG_20210807_110201.jpg

i have 3 more computers scattered around the house, all are in use day to day as computers with the mining software running in the background. 1 pc has 2x Radeon vii cards, 1 pc has 3x Radeon rx480 8gb cards, 1 pc has a 5700xt and a 5600xt.
combined total of 655mh on ETH at about 2500w.

Does everyone just stack? Or are you selling immediately?
I’ve pretty much only stacked since I started mining in mid 2017. I’ve bought four different ASICS with the BTC I’ve earned, but sold each for USD after they turned a profit.

Like anyone else, I wish I would have started mining in the early days. I have nine ampere cards and make about .001 BTC per day. currently about 1000 days to make one BTC. When in the early days you could make multiple BTC per day on a single CPU or GPU.

My efficiency is decent with ampere. The new ASICS coming out from Bitmain might be worth jumping on since ETH profitability has remained high even after EIP 1559.

90% of us at [H] should have been rolling in dough. But it was hard to believe in this when exchanges were being hacked and people lost everything.
But times have changed (still a risk but better than before), stable enough exchanges exist now.

There are hundreds of companies trying to turn this into the stock market, but at it's core, the real profits will always be in mining.
You get the coin and that's it. No fear of buying too high, and don't have to wait until the market is bearish to jump in.

To stay one topic: $8/day now on RVN - My goal is $15-20 a day with RVN/ETH once I can get my StepUp 3090s in.
After that I have to move into a house so I can also build out a room for expansion.

Like Well fargo, Levis and other company that started during the gold rush to sell stuff to miners, a lot of the real profit are in Nvidia and other pocket.

You got it. I've made far more money building mining rigs than mining.
Building mining rigs for who is the question. I don't think Billy down the street isn't supporting your household.
Each person earned the time they paid you back exponentially. Unless you reinvested all of that money, you actually lost a lot of money on each person you helped.

That's why brokers charge a percentage into perpetuity instead of a flat fee.
2% or more from each client helped is a hell of a return. Again, building rigs for who is the question. A mining farm would definitely consider this payout.

Added the second 6700xt, not a bad card for mining once tuned, at all and I'm done with the mining extension, cannot possibly add any more. Yes 3060 Ti Non LHRs would have been better (or the 3070s I sold for sub 800 this past year) but hindsight is always 20/20. Steady state hashrate is just at 350 MH/s when the 3090 isn't driving the monitor. AMD's drivers do get a bit wonky when driving more than one card, probably never gonna update it unless I have to...

I still haven't built my rig and i have all the parts afaik.
I'll get to it eventually. Still running each in it's own pc

Some more MPT tuning on the 6700xts, efficiency is getting up there but I think may be hitting a wall as one of them had a driver timeout/stale share, I think 550 KH/watt is approaching RDNA2 peak efficiency:

Think this mixed mining thing may be too much headache, AMD drivers have caused a bunch of reboots today and didn't have time to troubleshoot. Just running the 3090/3080 tonight till I can install the latest Radeon driver and test one more time. If nothing improves will just sell off or return the Radeons...this was just an experiment for fun, not that I need the extra 5-6 bux a day lol.

Ended up reinstalling the latest drivers from scratch and putting the 6700xts back on 97w, seems better now, will see, may be the extra 10 W I was trying to squeeze out was too much...still not certain going to keep it, AMD cards may end up in FS/FT at cost.

Updated to NBMiner 39.5, seems to use lower clocks performance is about 1% lower but if it's more stable not complaining, to be seen...

Just switched from NBMiner to TRex and getting a few extra MHs on my 3080 LHR.

Currently have:
1070, 25mh
RX580, 30mh
RX5600, 40mh
3080 LHR, 70mh

Casual miner, have a few mini PCs with EGPU spread around the house hooked up to TVs.

That's freaking awesome, can I move in with you? haha. I am going to watch your YouTube video, this is something I am wanting to do, wonder how much a setup like this will cost nowadays.

Not sure if you guys are mining Raptoreum.. was profitable for me while it was $0.0025XX but spiked all the way up to $0.006 yesterday. Much more profitable than mining monero and they just listed this coin on tradeogre. This is perfect for any CPUs you have lying around like your CPU sitting idle on your GPU farm. For me, I have a bunch of Ryzen 5XXX/Threadripper cpus that I used for chia mining that sat idle after I was done plotting so this was great. Making about $25-30 a day between 5 cpus at the current price.

For the life of me, I can't get the LHR workaround to work with a 3080Ti and NBMiner. I just switched to ergo with it and actually have higher profits than the 75-80Mh I'd get with it if I could get it working.

No LHR cards, have a 3090/3080 FTW3, 2x 6700xt and a 6600xt. I hope NV gets a nice CAL kick in the nuts for this bs.

Won't happen. However they really kicked themselves in the nuts, is what a lot of complex and boring analytics boils it down to. They managed to do not much more than needlessly devalue their own products.

I understand why Nvidia chose LHR - it was supposed to be a hedge against a repeat of 2017/2018 crypto crash, but things aren't playing out like their forecast models.
