Giant shrug emoji.

Delay it till December 2021 if you need too. I'd rather a finished product than a broken launch.

I normally would agree but considering the game (which has been delayed about a year now, roughly) was supposed to be gone gold already this time the delay is just embarrassing. No doubt the massive scale of the game is making things difficult, but still for the love of god CDProjekt... 🤦‍♂️ Oh well, it is what it is.

Bummer but oh well. More time to play other November games. If it means less bugs and stuff then it’s fine. Though pity this likely means a lot more forced OT for the employees who were probably looking forward to having a break once the game shipped.

Just retract the date and release it when it's done. Your excuses about having to test it on so many platforms is irrelevant, it's not like they came out of nowhere and you had no idea you were going to be doing so much testing. So many small delays are going to result in bad tastes in people's mouths at this point, maybe should have pegged it for mid 2021 and then if you finish early it's great.

I find it amusing that Nvidia's been pimping ray tracing and Cyberpunk since E3 2019 even to the point of releasing a Cyberpunk themed 2080Ti only to have the game come out so late that the themed card is obsolete.

What I want to know is, have the employees voted this way? Was the previous made up vote invalidated, or has there been a new vote to vote on how to vote to determine how to proceed forward while crunching during the delay of not working less to have the game finished on time making it go gold a couple of times?

My favorite part? Delaying the game to not be finished for the n-th time and doing it post launch with a patch.

What an absolute shitshow of mismanagement. If the game is half as good as the management is bad, it will be one of the best games ever.

^this.
crunch time - elected or not - is a failure of managment to plan. Prolonged crunch time is a failure of management to plan AFTER they failed to plan. How much bullshit, as a developer, can you tolerate? Because you know mgmt will not get fired, nor will they fix what went wrong in the planning, or the lack thereof.

Obviously they're delaying to do the one thing that EVERYONE is demanding...

...they're going to make a Switch port.

HAH. HAHAHAHAHA.

yeah i'll pick up the GOTY edition for this when its actually done.
anyone remember the amount of witcher 3 patches until people liked it? anyone remember blowing out/putting the candles on fire instead of looting boxes? the movement of the character? inventory?

Usually I'd be saying great, keep delaying till it's ready, but this last minute delay upsets me. With no where to go for the holidays because of china flu I like many requested that week off. Now it's too late to change. Besides that point I don't know what they plan to accomplish with an extra 21 days... 21 days is nothing, if you are going to delay again at least make it 3 months. 21 days isn't enough time to fix anything.

Some are speculating that the delay is for fixing performance issues on the new consoles.

Edit: on the same twitter account they posted yesterday that the 19th was set in stone and guaranteed lol.

Yeah, at this point I think its safe to assume that were all going to be getting a Beta at launch.

No thanks. I'll wait for the GOTY edition, a year or more down the road.

I'd rather not be a beta tester and I might actually pick this up at launch so I view this as good news. Despite all the grousing the state it's in at launch will have much more bearing on how it's viewed long term than some delays.

I was also starting to get concerned about whether I'd have a new graphics card in time too so this gives me a little more breathing room there.
