Nice, this looks really impressive.

Will you be trying to hide the internal components with some kind of mesh or filters? I can picture this case with bright coloured fan filters and background for that tiny detail on the front like for example bright "LTT" orange. This could look really interesting.

We can implement any customisation - any ventilation holes, almost any color, any logo on the front panel etc.

What I mean is that what you have is already nice and you could improve it a bit rather than customising the cutouts for each case.

My concepts for this - just get some kind of bright coloured honeycomb mesh and add the same colour backlight to the front detail:

I'm not interested in buying, I'm just dropping the idea on how you could customise this for your clients without redesigning the laser cutouts while also fixing the problem of those huge vent holes where you can put your finger through them and touch the inside (you won't be able to put CE mark on this now).

We started production case #002 for guy from US. Will be ready in 3-4 weeks. #002 will have a lot usability improvements and custom color. I will share our progress.

I have some comments & questions…

The hardware that secures the side panels; black knurled thumbscrews would be best here, preferably captive to the panels themselves…!

The hexagons; it triggers my OCD when I see the top & bottom cutouts aligned with the panels, but then the side panels have cutouts that are off axis by about 10 degrees or so… And the pattern on the side panels obscures some of the fan area, this should be increased to allow the entire fan to be open to the outside air…

The PCIe riser cable, I only see a single screw attaching it to the chassis…? It looks like there is only a single fastener because the PCIe slot the GPU goes into might be mounted too high, so the back screw was removed to allow the GPU to angle down and allow the GPu to secure to the rear PCIe I/O area…? And this (these) fasteners should also be black…

In conjunction with the above PCIe riser cable mounting; is there sufficient room for the power connector on top of the GPU, without using 'shorty' connectors or right angle connectors or any of that…? Especially important with taller cards like the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini…!

The gap/reveal/tolerance/whatever between the side panels & the top panel section… I can see where it is nice & flush at the front of the chassis, but this flares out as it goes to the back of the chassis; this shows a noticeable widening from front to back…

The smaller screws used to fasten various chassis components together, these appear black in some photos & silver in others; these should be black as well…

I DO see now that my thoughts towards front panel power & I/O would not be practical, as there is no interior space for this items…! Not a problem, and avoids excess cabling anyway (especially those always overly stiff USB cables)…

TL:DR version:

All hardware / fasteners should be black

Captive knurled thumbscrews on the side panels

PCIe riser cable properly secured to chassis & sufficient clearance for GPU power connector

Better alignment of side panels to chassis, with an even / consistent reveal

All in all, an excellent Prototype #001… Definitely looking forward to seeing/reading about changes/improvements made to Prototype #002…

I am definitely interested in a more refined version of this chassis; but without the front panel logo cutout & with a change of the venting to the "Hutzy XS' style…!

Boil thanks for commentes! :)

#002 changelog:
- all screws will be black
- PCIe riser will be attaching with two screws
- GPU will be mounted lower (13mm), Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini can be easy installed
- side panels and top panel = one solid piece (there will be no problem with gap)
- power button will be on the top panel

And as I said earlier, exterior is fully customisable. Client can choose color, logo, style of venting holes.

Any photos of the 3.96L version? Looks like you just have photos of the 3.24L with external power brick. I'm looking to move my Node 202 machine with GTX1070 into something smaller.

Two 3.96L are in production now. First photos will be in March. But design and details will be the same as 3.24L, just s little higher (40mm).

so the logo of front could be completely removed if wanted?
would customizations increase the price?
I'm definitely interested in one of these for the (near) future!

It's hard to argue with this small of a package and that level of customization options. Something semi custom for the wife and each daughter...I'd rake in the brownie points. :D

Definitely following along.

Yes, we can completely remove our logo. And it's free.

SWWBEdx.jpg

Leaning heavy towards a custom unit, for that extra length needed for the Zotac GTX 1080 Mini…

Really want the PSU to be all internal, meaning no external power brick; but would kinda like to avoid a Flex-ATX PSU…

I know we talked a bit about it previously, but I would really like to try & get the HDPlex 300w AC-DC unit & the HDPlex 300w HiFi DC-ATX unit into this chassis…

I feel that the AC-DC unit could be fit under the GPU…?

ngwnl6r-png.152

With the slightly increased volume that placing the Ac-DC unit under the GPU, and the length needed for the 1080 Mini; this might also allow enough space for integrating a front-mounted (where the logo currently resides) power button, USB port & audio I/O…?

All theoretical at this point, as the HDPlex 300w AC-DC unit is not a shipping item yet…?

Also having thoughts towards implementing two NF-A9x14 fans in the top of the chassis for exhaust…

Hard to make solid plans at this point, as several key build components are not released & shipping items yet…

Who knows, Ryzen & Vega could allow for an equally powerful build within the confines of the smaller chassis…

Boil sorry, but there is no free space and mounting holes for any AC-DC or fans. The main idea of our case is record volume and simplicity (no problem with cable management etc). Thats why we support only Pico-style PSU.

I was more thinking of the longer chassis that supports the Zotac 1080 Mini, you listed the HDPlex HiFi 300w DC-ATX as compatible with that in the past…

But I REALLY want to keep it simple as well, it is just that damned 1080 "Mini" card that keeps driving the volume up…! \

"Well, if I have this, then the extra space would allow this; then I could add this, but then I would want this…"

What I really want is an AM4 mITX MB that has a front-mounted M.2 slot (come on ASRock, give us what you already have for the H270 / Z270 mITX MBs); loaded with an 8c / 16t Ryzen CPU & a shorty ITX-sized Vega GPU that has performance equal to or greater than the GTX 1070 (if not the 1080)…!

This could all fit in the smaller of the CustoMOD chassis', and the simplicity & elegance of the G-Unique PSU solution could help me learn to live with the external power brick…

Oh…! Question about the power button…

You state it is being moved to the top panel, but you also state the top & side panels will be one piece in the future; how will this work when opening up the chassis…?

And what options are available for the power button…? I would prefer the button match the chassis finish (matte black) with a soft white LED…

I want almost the same config ;)

Power button will be on the top panel, but mounted on back panel ;) In the corner. Button will be small and black, with small modification - soft white LED ;)

Curiositie yes, we'll use 30mm x16mm input socket for G-Unique Unit.

Yes, we will not use vandal style switch because of size. I posted photo of power button here.

So, this is how you avoid the security checkpoint at the customs (IE the door to your house)?

-Honey, you couldn't possibly have bought another computer, right? The basement is filled with those. And the package the USPS brought looks suspicious enough...
-Of course not, sweetie. Your old computer needs some rehauling and I just bought something nice and tiny for you.

That's the gist of the normal con I'd run. Luckily we just moved so I purged a lot of old parts. We're together in a nice den now as well, instead of me in the old Dungeon of Parts and her up in the light.

"Sorry sweetie, you told me I should get rid of all that old crap. I don't have much of anything old I can use for an upgrade. Besides, I thought you deserved something pretty for the new den."

I think I can pull it off. WIsh me luck!

Many questions about case feet. We use black rubber feet 12.7mm x 12.7mm x 3mm

Very nice looking case. Good job!
I think only improvement of GPU fixing and moving power button on the front panel, will make this project complete.
And in my opinion, better use small ventilation holes instead of big ones.
