So planning a custom build with water cooling in a Lenovo Legion Cube.
ionar-gaming-computer--pdp_zoom-3000--pdp_main-540.jpg

Early specs:

CPU:
i5-10600K
GPU: Gainward RTX 2060
Motherboard: asrock h470m-hdv/m.2
NVME: Samsung EVO 970 Plus 1Tb
RAM: 16Gb G.skill DDR4 2666mhz
PSU: TX550M

Water cooling:
  • 2x Alphacool 120x45mm Radiators
  • 2x 120mm FANS
  • 1x LC-DT 3600
  • 1x Eisstation 80 (top+res)
  • 1x EK HF Supreme
  • 1x EK HF Supreme VGA
  • 1x Hoses
Final specs:

CPU:
i5-10600K
GPU: HP Omen RTX 3060Ti
Motherboard: Asrock B560M-ITX/ac
NVME: Samsung EVO 970 Plus 1Tb
RAM: 16Gb Corsair vengence 3600mhz
PSU: Corsair SF600 (Modular SFX)

Water cooling:
  • 2x Alphacool NexXxoS ST25 Full Copper 240mm Radiator with
  • 4x Arctic P12 PWM PST in push mode
  • 1x LC-DT 3600
  • 1x Eisstation 80 (top+res)
  • 1x EK HF Supreme
  • 1x EK HF Supreme VGA + 2x Arctic P9 PWM PST to keep it cool.
  • Lots of hoses and hose clips.

Plan is to remove the sides and back and replaces them with a combination of wood and acrylic.
Red would be a dark wood and blue would be black acrylic og maybe clear.
The green part will be removed since it is just plastic.
The top handle will be replaces to another handle.
I think I will keep the front, but no sure about that.

More to come.

First top plate ready which will allow for 2x 92mm fans to cool the vrams etc on the GPU:

Also made a trial cut of the wood front panel:

Thanks :)

Just ordered some 3mm walnut veneer that I plan to use for the front and the back.

Nice I would love to go crazy with a laser cuter and some wood/acrilic. Sounds like a great way to make a case

Did a small mockup with the tx550m psu and the 120mm radiator. That was not a huge success since it got very tight.

So "stole" my son's SFX psu and gave him the tx550m instead ;).

That helped a lot on the space and then I can also fit the res+pump.

I think I will redo the top plate so I can access the reservoir from the top.

And perhaps make a small drip plate under the pump+res so if there is a leak it wont go into the PSU :)

So I have been trying to get everything drawn up in CAD, so I can cut the panels.

I still need some work on the back for the cut for the GPU card and the mainboard connectors.
I'm a bit unsure if I should cut similar vents in the left side black acrylic side? Perhaps I could leave room for a 120mm fan.

So running into severe fitting issues, so I did a rearrangement of everything:

So made the left side compartment for the radiators and made room for an extra 184x92mm radiator. Sadly I could not squeeze in one more 240mm rad.

And then the PSU will be besides the motherboard, I think it should be ok;

So sorry I have been busy with selling my old Audi and then I managed to get corona and the I got a metal splint in my eye.

I'm getting close to have everything ready for the final cut in the right material.

Bracket for front USB connector and power/restart button and to support the front:

Fitting of front and side with radiator:

New rear with PSU moved to motherboard side. This way i can have one compartment for water cooling only:

Had to make a new mounting plate for my ek-vga supreme hf since the mounting holes are 58,42x74,42 on my rtx 2060.

Did a trial run in acrylic and will have to make it in steel:

Neat project! I would love to have access to a laser cutter to custom make a case out of acrylic and thin wood. Simular to the 2000s all acrilic builds.

Yeah it makes it a lot easier to try stuff out, when you can cut it yourself.

Sadly no steel cutting which would have been really cool.

So gave up on the 92mm radiator and just went with 2x 240mm radiators.

So moved the PSU to the front and fits nicely after a bit of cutting:

And now there is room for a 240mm radiator on each side:

Definitely fun, but also dragging on Abit to be honest.

A lot more complications then I thought, when I started:)

So project is coming to and end soon.

Triel fitted the water components and got the routing sorted:

Fitted and drilled all holes etc:

New IO Shield:

It got some small feets as well :)

So just cut all the final wood plates:

Back with a little skull:

Top, and I can see that my little bracket that can open to the water reservoir looks like a condom....Greaat.

Alright I will see what can do to seal the wood.

Started fitting the hoses and getting it ready for water leak testing.
Just waiting for some better hose clips, but thinking of just using zip ties for now.

Any clear coat would be fine to seal it, matte or gloss. Is the condom tip at the top a fill port cover for easy access? Now that he pointed it out, I can't unsee it lol. :p

Yup access to the fill port :)

I feel the same way, think I will redesign it and perhaps make the top in a dark oak finish my local shop just got.
