Amazing price! Almost makes me regret picking up my two Corsairs. I hope lots are able to get in on it. The sale prices on SSDs have been insane lately!

My board is Sata II.. will I see a large limiting factor in the drives potential performance from this if I were to pick up this unit? Also does RAID 0ing these drives come with any significant disadvantages if I choose to expand in the future?

I feel you on this one, but I'm letting the responsible part of me say no. I have a 128GB C300, I don't really NEED this.

Opening a new Bill Me Later account is like opening a new credit card account; it will ding your credit score.

Sigh. Must resist. I've already made my irresponsible purchases for the next couple months or I would definitely get one or two of these....

^ I am not really sure where you get that it is much faster.. Yes, it might have better scores in one bench, but the M4's are widely considered the bect ssd's out there. I actually have that exact Chronos SSD that I got for $250, but I would trade it in for the m4 without giving it a second thought.

If I am not mistaken, sandforce drives excell in sequential read/writes while marvel controllers excell in random read/writes.

Of course it matters, but I don't think that its everything.

I could be wrong, of course.

I do believe prices are dropping... Kind of wish I had waited for the amazon price to drop before ordering; prime + I have a gift card.

90,000 IOPS? Who cares... Convetional disc-based drives only get 80-150 IOPS. You'll never use anywhere near that 90,000 IOPS unless you virtualize a bunch of servers on your system- E.g. more than the drive has capacity for.

I'm pretty happy! Every upgrade should be this awesome.

Heres the bench for Raid 0 setup using 2x 240GB Mushkin Exhanced Chronos Deluxe SSDs:

Sec 1084 / 567.3
512K 789.7 / 520.2
4K 38.18 / 121.2
4KQD32 362.3 / 466.6

Before the Vertex 2 sata 2 raid 0 setup got:

Seq 436.1 / 211.2
512 358.0 / 180.8
4K 21.18 / 65.72
4KQD32 216.3 / 174.9

Dont take much to load those BF3 maps now haha.
