No way I am missing out on this a second time, and even cheaper! (Yeah, it's only the OEM version, but who needs the fancy red cover anyway?)

My X-Fi Titanium HD is going out on me. While I'm sure it's stupid to compare the two, would the Z be an ok downgrade? I primarily game and listen to music on a pair of M-Audio AV40s.

AV40's will sound close to the same if the X-Fi Titanium HD is anything like X-FI fatality pro I was using. Games sound much better using headphones (twice the bass and more clarity) otherwise it sounds very similar...I have no regrets buying the non oem version. So for me the speakers were a slight upgrade in sound but mainly the headset was improved the most due to the built in amp of the sound blaster z
