Ok this is probably a very stupid question but I can't figure it out. My webdesigner was going to transfer the new barebones website over to my current host. I can create a subdomain and an ftp for him to log in on but won't he need access to cpanel? If so how to I create an account for cpanel that is separate from my main account?

I can't imagine I'm supposed to hand over my main account to him, any ideas?

Unless you have a reseller account, I don't believe there is much in the way of "guest accounts". Regardless, the designer should not need cpanel access for anything he's doing, especially if it is "barebones". (The closest I can really think of is if he were setting up a database, in which case you can create it, the queries can be run through PHP.)

Ah ok, he just mentioned he needed phpmyadmin, wordpress, etc so I assumed he needed access to get all that installed right.

He shouldn't. Sounds like he just needs access to FTP and a SQL database.
