I have a BIOSTAR MCP6P M2+ and AM2 5050E CPU. The 4-pin connector from the motherboard is really stiff and it seems like the CPU fan connector isn't lining up straight.

The only way to get the fan to spin is to push it tight against the white part of the CPU fan connector on the motherboard.

Is there a way for me to make the computer shut down immediately if temps reach a certain level?

it automatically will....i dont remember what it is for those chips, but the CPU will shut down before perm. damage occurs.....try plugging your fan into a different spot on the board, wont make a difference, and it will spin(hopefully)

I've been looking for a 4-pin to molex connector. Is there such a thing?

yup, ive got 2 of em in another computer....

though honestly just plug it into another fan header on your motherboard

It's a cheapo board...only two headers. One 3-pin and one 4-pin. The cpu is 4-pin and the 120mmm fan only has a 3-pin connector. Maybe I can just connect the case fan to a molex instead.

in that case, throw the 4 pin on the 3 pin header(you lose speed control), and put your case fan on a molex
