When my computer starts, I get the message:

CPU fan error!
Press F1 to resume.

After pressing F1 everything seems fine. I think I remember reading that this message appears because the fan spins slower than the stock one. Is this correct? I want to make sure that nothing is being harmed. Is there any way to prevent this message if it is not necessary?

Turn off fan monitoring in the bios - i dont think the Zalman has the correct wires to work with an rpm monitor anyways.

Yes, turn off the CPU fan monitoring feature in your BIOS. This error should only come if it detects no fan, 0 rpm, or if the rpm is lower then the alarm trigger.

Did you connect the fan to the Fanmate and turn it all the way down (lowest RPM)?

Yes. I have the fanmate turned down to silent mode. This message must be because of it's low rpm. I'll check bios for fan monitoring and turn it off. Thanks.
