Pornhub is being asked to hand over the names, email addresses, IP addresses, and other identifying information related to uploaders of pirated videos. Companies are generally satisfied after a DMCA takedown is completed, but not the wankers at Wankz, who not only want their pornos taken down but the identities of the uploaders revealed.

Most porn production companies restrict their enforcement efforts to sending takedown requests, but for some that is not enough. The Seychelles-based company Foshan Ltd, known for the “Wankz” brand, has gone a step further and wants to know who uploaded its videos to the site. Last week the company obtained a DMCA subpoena from a federal court in California, which orders the adult video portal to identify and expose the uploaders of more than 1,000 copies of its videos. The request for a DMCA subpoena was granted by a court clerk a day after it was filed. As a result, Pornhub now has until May 1st to hand over the requested information unless it decides to appeal.

"Wankz, who not only want their pornos taken down but the identities of the uploaders revealed" and shake their hands.

99.9% of all porn online is not a legit upload... good luck with that. Most of the uploaders probably aren't even in the US.

Well, given that the US thinks that the world is indeed theirs, that would not stop them from trying and who knows, depending in who is paying for this, they might go after them, just see the Dotcom 's bullshit case.

I thought all porn was free. You mean people pay for it? Who pays for it? We need a pole!!

Yea, cool. I've always said go for the uploaders of the pirated material and not the content delivery or the end user.

Just make sure it's 100% legal.

Also, if it goes through, I won't be using PornHub for my uploads anymore. I kind of like my privacy. :D

fixed that for you ;)

At least they are targeting the hundreds or thousands of uploaders instead of the millions of viewers.

There still are stores that sell this on physical media, and dedicate their entire building to shelves of these! I drive by one often, parking lot always has one car in it, i assume the owner. I feel like there has to be a better business to put in such a building that would make more money.
