So my Hyperx cloud II headphones stopped working after like 5 years and I'm looking for an upgrade. Preferably closed back/ Over-ear headset with mic. Wired or wireless under $200 bucks.

Thanks I'll take the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P into consideration, is there any difference between the 7/7p/7x version besides color?

Also what's people thoughts on the audeze maxwell? I'm wondering if I should spend the extra money and get them? I'm more of a music listener than gamer.
not sure but thats what it looks like.
that is rtings #1 headset, its over $100 more than you stipulated so i didnt suggest it.

Sorry for changing my price range, I was hoping someone here has them and could give an honest opinion on them. I think on reddit people say they had quality issues with them but on youtube reviews people seem to love them.

Yeah, I have the Maxwells. I really like them, they are kind of heavy but they sound great. Have basically replaced all my other headsets other than my lighter BT ones that I take with me on trips (Sony WH-1000XM4).

Some people have said they have issues with build quality. I haven't noticed any, but I also don't use them as much as some people probably do, so it's hard to say. They don't seem cheaply-made to me, though.

Thanks for the reply, I see Rtings has the Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed rated the best Upper mid-range gaming headset I think it's between those two.
How much better would you say the Maxwells are over Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed?

I can't say as I've never used the Logitech G Pro. But I would wager that planar magnetics are going to have better sound. I've used a lot of headphones, and these have really nice clarity and bass compared to most others.

Will the PS version work with PC or do I need the xbox version?
as far as i can tell, it literally is just the logo colour.
and the xbox version comes with said atmos license(for +$30). get the ps5 ones and buy the $15 atmos license separately if you need/want it.

I'm an open back fan so I don't have any specific model recommendations, but my advice is get good headphones and slap a mod mic wireless on them. The majority of gaming headsets have bad mics, and mod mic is very good.

Yes very well and as mentioned you can buy the THX license
I should also mention early versions of the software had bugs which I believe are all worked out now.
My experience with customer support was excellent. They even sent me a beta to test which fixed it.
Very quick to reply and help. I couldn't have asked for better.

Thanks, I think I'm going to buy the Maxwell's it's expensive up here in Canada though $474 on Amazon.ca. $399 on a couple other places for PS version. I'm debating on buying on Amazon and getting the extended Asurion 2 year warranty plan but that's an extra $50 bucks. I'm hoping they go on sale to soften the blow.

ooohh so you only had 200 canuckistani pesos. when people see $200 here they assume its USD, it is a us based forum....

I know and I did mean $200usd but then I said I was considering spending the extra money for the Maxwell's.

BTW what's peoples opinion on the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless? Are they any good for music?
