Corsair T1 RACE Gaming Chair Unboxing and Assembly



MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE CAP ON THE GAS PISTON! I did not do this as is spelled out in the instructions. I had to take the chair apart this morning to remove it. It is not accessible after it is put together, and after sat in, the seat base is not easy to break free from the piston. Took me a dead blow hammer in the garage. But now I can go up and down.....yeah.

Couldn't we just use a REAL articulated racing seat, and build a base for it .... something like out of a high end sports car? All electric adjustments, etc.
 
Nicely review and assembly. The wheels seemed nice , disappointing the base was plastic.

Compared to the Icon's review I'm left feeling ..........meh about this one.

Curious.........I see the Icon still there..................waiting to hear how you feel about it after a bit of usage?

Great video as always. I'm looking for a new chair or rather a 2nd chair. This one seems ok , but the 350 is a little much.

Plastic base on a $350+ chair is robbery. The base is always the first to go for me if it is made of plastic. The $100 staples chair I brought years ago even has a metal base.

It is a good looking chair, but the price is way out of line (lots of cheap plastic).

If you keep reviewing these chairs you will soon be an expert at assembling them, especially since there is little to no innovation in this market segment. I expect soon these videos will only be 10 minutes in length. It is not bad looking all assembled. But I think I'll stick with my Craigslist Herman Miller Aeron.

My DXRacer chair has an aluminium base and heavy duty casters. Paid $369 and it's holding up well after a year of use. The seat cushion is usually the first thing to wear out, but it's still comfy and shows no signs of wear.

Most of these racing chairs are made by the same manufacturer, but they cheap out on some models and tack on a high price.

Hmm the $1200 steelcase leap V1 (with the tall option, hence the price) I have and have used for something like 7 years now has a plastic base. AT 250lbs give or take 20lbs over those 7 years, it hasn't given out on me.

Good video, but I thought for sure you were going to eat it when you titled all the way back, that went so far back.

Not really impressed with all the plastic, from the covers/arms/base. Curious to see how it holds up and fits you after awhile, but it definitely looks way to small for you in general.
 
Alright....I do not think I will be able to review this chair. I have spent about 4 hours in it this morning, and it is not working out for me at all. My rib cage is literally wider than the outside edge of the bolsters on the seat back. The bolsters on the seat are as narrow as my hip bones. I sat in it for four hours today and it was painful. I have handed it off to my son to use. He is 17 and my daughter is 15, both of them fit perfectly in the chair.

I need to upgrade my chair, and have been watching this series of yours with interest. I think I may be a bit spoiled by having a > $1k chair at work, but I'd like something that is at least reasonably comfy without blowing the kids college fund.

depending on whether you like soft or firm chairs the serta chairs are super comfy and go on sale pretty often and looks like the noble chairs pretty nice if you like firm cushioning.

Nice to know Corsair makes a chair, as I am a Corsair junkie apparently. Looking at the AKRacing Nitro myself, but perhaps I'll look at this one a little closer
