Are they compatible? The H60 was purchased in 2014. Would be nice to keep the H60 since it would cool much better vs the in box Wraith Stealth.

Also, I may be gifting the 4690k to a family member. Will the Wraith Stealth cooler fit onto a Z97 motherboard to cool the Intel 4690k cpu?

Supposedly, the AM3 bracket that came with the H60 should also be able to fit on AM4 for these Hydro series coolers:
If you have CORSAIR Coolers: H60, H110i (H110i GT), H100i, the cooler is compatible with the existing AMD bracket out of the box. The AMD bracket for these coolers can be ordered here.
^ per the item description if you look at the AM4 bracket page for the Asetek-made line of coolers (H55, H100i v2, H105, H110, etc).

I wish I had tested this before with my old H80i back when I was putting together a 3700x system for someone so that I could give you a definitive answer, but it didn't occur to me at the time.

As for putting the WStealth onto LGA1155: nope. I'm not aware of anyone making any kind of adapter brackets for AM3/4 -> LGA1156/55/50/51. The main reason being that the through-holes are a different layout (square vs rectangular). You could theoretically make your own adapter, or you could simply zip-tie the Wraith onto the 4690k if you're feeling adventurous.
