Corsair Graphite Series 600T mid-tower gaming case

Sometime between 1530 EDT today and now the status of my Newegg order went from "Charged" to "Shipped". There is no tracking number listed yet but I am sure it will appear soon.

UPDATE:
Newegg now is providing a tracking number with a delivery date of 9/22 (Wednesday)

UPS first scanned it at 1400 yesterday (Friday) and is now in the hands of UPS at their Ontario, Ca hub.

Guess I know what I will be doing Wednesday night.

lol, I'm kinda glad Amazon hasn't charged/shipped mine yet. Had $200 in my account until payday today, after buying a Samsung PN58C7000 last week and a Sony KDL-52NX800 this week.

Lucky you. They already charged me for my new Samsung BD-C6900 :(

Whenever the first one of you gets your case - post your impressions here. I'd love to hear what you guys think of it. Also, some photos obviously wouldn't hurt. :D

I just got my case! Despite the damage during transit, my case was flawless. The pictures online really do not do this case justice. The paint job is stunning, as cheesy as they may or may not sound. Apart from the paint job, the inside really is as cavernous as most people claim; while I haven't gotten a chance to install all my components (I have "class" until 4pm), the largest CPU heatsinks won't pose a problem for them case, I'm absolutely certain.

The exterior plastic is beyond sturdy. The plastic was my only gripe up until ordering the case, and it really poses a non-issue for me. And the fan controller knob is of good quality (I typically spurn built-in fan controllers, but Corsair delivered!).

I'll definitely post some pictures later this evening or tomorrow morning, once I actually have a chance to sit down and put all my components in my case. At this juncture, just from playing around for a moment, I think I'll remove one hard drive bay and move the other to sit next to my PSU. I feel like that'll help to keep my 5850 even cooler.

Thanks Redbeard, for everything!

Any chance you can measure out the inside also? Just want to see how much room is in there for a board (in the hopes that by some miracle there is enough room to fit an SR-2 inside). :) I'd greatly appreciate it if you don't mind....just need max motherboard clearance space.

Congrats on being the first. Looking forward to the pics.

Redbeard, Will there be any special features with the side panel that is not standard like we see today? Something Unique perhaps?

Like I said earlier, we're working on a windowed and mesh panel for the side. The idea right now is to have the window and mesh user-swappable so you can choose between a plexi window or a mesh side panel with fan mounts.

best looking case i've seen for the $$ ...i'll be ordering mine soon.

Corsair has once again produced a chassis that makes itself a leader amongst its competition.

Video review up over at HardwareCanucks

They managed to take gorgeous shots of the case. I was initially hesitant about the rounded edges, but at this point, I'm pretty much set on the 600T as my next case.

Redbeard,
Will that bring up the cost of the case to have 2 extra options on side panels?

The side panel will be sold separately at first. We may do limited editions with one side panel or the other.

Redbeard can you perhaps shed some light on when Microcenter might get their cases in?

Newegg will probably be the only place to have them in the US for the next week or so, as far as I can tell. Microcenter will take a bit longer because they are a retail outlet, and the container ships to their distribution center first and then gets split up into units that get sent to local stores - so that takes some time.

When you get this case, please let me know if it is silent..i'm stuck between Fractal r3 and corsair 600T...thanks!

ok with this case I want to put my hands on it and see it first, I'm not in any big hurry for it, as long as it might be before Halloween or so I'll be cool. I'm planning a trip to an area where there is a fry's in mid-october too, so that would be cool if they had them as well.

OK, UPS delivered it today, one day early. This must be a good omen because usually I have problems with UPS and their less than great respect for residential deliveries (that are no less expensive than business deliveries).

In any case, here are my first impressions.

-The case really has a nice appearance, great finish, and seems solid as a rock.
-Quality seems outstanding from just a quick inspection. High quality construction and attention to detail were must requirements for the case I decided to buy. It does not appear I will be disappointed.
-It is huge, bigger than I perceived it to be from the published dimensions and pictures. Its definitely going to require some getting used to due to its size and the amount of real estate it is going to use under my desk.
-Not one iota of shipping damage to the cardboard box.
-The static electricity created when the cardboard box is pulled away and again when the cloth like shipping cover is pulled off is close to deadly. Although I live in humid south Florida (87 degrees now at 1800) it still greeted me with impressive and memorable static shocks. Certainly got my attention more than once. In fairness, the AC has it 74 degrees and 44% humidity inside but we still do not see static electricity here.

I don't know if I am going to switch cases tonight but if I do I will edit this with anything else I think might be worthwhile.

I feel ridiculous for having to admit this, but I'm having trouble connecting ALL the chassis fans to my motherboard. I've been trying to figure it out for almost thirty minutes, now, and to no avail.

Redbeard, other 600T owners... help?

Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E Pro, if it helps.

The case fans are not intended to connect to your motherboard. They are intended to be connected to the fan controller in the top front of the case.

The fan controller is most evident by the large round knob that manually controls fan speed. You will find five small black wires (two conductor 'zip' cord) coming from under the knob. Do not confuse these wires with the larger round USB etc. cables coming from the same area. Four of these wires have connectors on the end that each fan plugs into. Each one of these connectors has a temporary plastic cap on it so the pins do not short against anything if a fan is not plugged into it. Just pull the cap off. The fourth wire has a 4 pin male & female (depending which end of the connector you look at) connector that mates with a 4 pin Molex connector from the power supply.

Hope this helps. If not, I will try to answer any more questions you have.

It only has three fans, I imagine the fourth connector is for a CPU fan, or at least, that what I used it for =D.

I'm loving it, but it somehow seems louder than I expected? Granted thats not saying its loud at all.

Also, my noctua nh-p12 BARELY fits in this thing... I'll get a pic up to show.

Yeah I'm curious as to what you mean here, because we tested with that heatsink and it fit fine in most of our tests. Pics are appreciated.

It's an aircooling case first and foremost, and the top and front are largely unrestricted, so noise is going to pass through there from GPU and CPU fans. But if you choose quiet components, the case is very quiet and provides very good cooling.

The included fans are very quiet, I think.

I have no doubt! Its very very quiet, especially considering my last case(it had about 5 80mm fans that ran full speed.)

Here are some pics, it looks like the 200mill fan is pushing on it slightly...perhaps I should change the orientation?

The top of the cooler actually touches the fan, but I can't confirm if it just barely touches it or if it bend it slightly.

Its hard to see in those pictures, but the very top of the cooler is touching the fan, however, when I push the fan up on that side, the cooler has no give...I'm not too worried, it seems like its just too perfect of a fit, but i'd like to know for sure that my cooler is getting optimal touching.

You should be fine, those pictures seem pretty much in-line with our tests in the lab and there were no negative effects there.

Looks like a nice system.

I'm loving it so far...its awesome...much better that I expected, the only little thing was that fan problem, but I don't think its really a problem at all.

Also, I have two more questions...The top 200mm fan seems to wobble just a itty bit...which doesn't worry me too much, if it weren't for the fact that it seems like they don't push too much air...can I just not feel it very well? Should I not be running my 2 noctuas on there the same time? Just some random questions, again I'm loving it so far, however I figured I might as well ask.

EDIT: Also, I just noticed my front fan makes a different noise than the top one...the top seems silent, but the front one seems like it has a buzz to it...it whirs up and hums as it gets faster....but the top fan doesn't do this.

Give the fans a day or so and if it still happens, send me an email and I'll send you a new fan for the front.

Thanks redbeard... you've really been here with us from beggining to end and this case is amazing. I'll definitally keep with corsair, the customer service has proved to be so much more than I expected. I was looking to buy an ssd soon, so I think I'll stick with you guys for that too =D. I'll give it a couple days and see what happens, and thanks again, this case is really something.

The SSD will be with out question the single greatest performance increase you could possible make. I've got an Intel 160GB SSD in my MacPro, a OWC 100GB Sandforce in my MacBook Pro, and a 120 GSkill Sandforce in my gaming rig (this is the rig that will go into the Corsair 600T). Sounds like your set on a Corsair SSD based on your experience with the 600T. I'm not sure of the model but if your going with the Corsair SSD I'd highly recommend one which uses the Sandforce controller (Think its their F series, Redbeard can correct me if Im wrong).

Yeah, the Force series is our Sandforce based series. It's what I'd buy right now.
