Corsair Carbide Series AIR 540 Computer Case Review @ [H]

I picked one of these up for curiosity sake from MicroCenter last week, I love it! It's not too big, but it's big enough for any cooling and expansion options I could ever want. It's currently housing a 3570K @ 4.8GHz (H60), Gigabyte 660, and a few HDDs. I'm running the stock fans up front and 2 120mm Enermax Twisters up top, all hooked into a BitFenix Recon fan controller. I'm very happy with this case, more so than any other case I've had in recent history.

Hey all I'm new here just happened upon this thread while perusing all things "Corsair Air 540". Glad to see I'm not the only fan of this case.

I like this case because it reminds me of the W.O.P.R from War Games.

I'm not the type that gets nutty with bright internal accent lighting having opted for an understated look with the Dominator ram LED's, H100i Corsair light and default mobo indicator lights.

My workstation build for 3D rendering:
Intel i7-4930K (6 cores) OC -> 4.4GHz
ASUS P9X79 WS LGA 2011 Motherboard
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 2400 MHz
Corsair Hydro H100i
-- refitted w/Scythe GentleTyphoon 120mm Silent Case Fans x2
GTX780 ASUS Direct CU II
ASUS Optional Fans for Water/Heatpipe CPU/Chipset Cooler x2
Boot Drive Win 7 = Kingston HyperX 120 GB SATA III SSD's x2 Raid 1
Work Drive = Western Digital Black 1 TB 7200 RPM HD's x2 Raid 1
SeaSonic 650-Watt 80 PLUS Power Supply SSR-650RM
Dell U2713HM 27" AH-IPS Monitor
CyberPower EC850LCD 850VA/510-Watts LCD UPS x2
Pioneer Internal Blu-Ray Writer BDR-209DBK
-- Vantec External 5.25-Inch Optical Drive Enclosure NST-530S3-BK
StarTech 2 Port High Resolution USB DVI Dual Link KVM Switch

One thing about this case is you'll have to cut out squares of dust filter foam (i use Duck Brand for air conditioners) and seat them against any vents you can find for an extra layer of barrier protection. I also have a piece under both HD's seats on the bottom (it's vented there too.) All this only if you wish to keep the dust out.

Other than that Corsair has become my favorite custom components a la carte company out there. Their stuff is pretty good.

Is the 540 still in production. I'm not having much luck finding the black version in Stock at a reasonable price

Yes, they are still in production, they are not EOL. I just checked Amazon, they should have it in stock.
