Corsair AX860 coil whine

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at the Corsair AX860, which I understand is an OEM Seasonic Platinum 860. I'm in the UK so this will be on 230v.

I've raid about coil whine on these PSU's, but this appears to be the earlier production. Does anyone know if this problem still exists? It will bug the hell out of me, so I want to avoid this like the plague.

I have had 4 Seasonic of the current KM3 make (3 Platinums and 1 Gold).

I have had one Platinum whine on me, but the other 3 are silent.

All chugging along great.

Can't say for sure if there have been any revisions on their end.

This GTX970 on the other hand...
 
I have the Corsair AX 760 (*Seasonic-made as well) running at my 2nd pc.
So far i can't say that i had any coile whine issues.
 
It looks like there was more reports of this in 2013/2014, I'd hope the issues were worked out in the more recent production runs. When did you purchase the Platinum that had the whine?
 
I have (3) original AX860's from when they first launched. No issues ever.

I think I'm just going to give it a chance and deal with it if I get whine.
