I just don't understand or maybe the 800D is different from the 700D is that matter, but I have tons of room in there and don't understand where else there could be space added? plus my 700D hold way more HDDs then I run a SSD and a single HDD.

Great looking case...very Lian Li. My advice Corsair: provide a stealth DVD cover for your cases. If your going for elegance (which I think your cases are), give users an option besides modding to keep the clean look. I've skipped your cases and stayed with Lian Li because they've considered this.

Corsair's website says April 2011. People have been mentioning late February 2011.

I'm hoping it's late February. :D

Performance-PCS.com just placed an order for their 650Ds. They said the cases should arrive within 5-7 days.

Nice! Hope this means other online shops will be doing the same. PPCS prices/shipping are on the high end compared to Amazon, Newegg. I've got everything for my next build. Just waiting for the 650D. :)

Since I don't have a case atm I'm willing to pay a premium to get it up to two weeks early.
Amazon will take forever and Newegg will charge $20+ for shipping anyway. PPCS is only about 2hrs away from me so shipping could cost the same.

I'm pretty sure that's not right - it might leave the factory in 5-7 days, but then it goes on a boat for 3 weeks to the US. I could be wrong, though, because I've been out of the office on paternity leave for the last 2 weeks. I'll double check when I get back to the office on Monday, but I can almost guarantee that nothing has landed in the US or Europe yet.

I got that info directly from PPCS one of the Managers.
Just emailed him again to clarify.

Edit: They ordered them from the factory but it's unknown if they are in the US.

Have the cases left for the US yet?

I honestly don't know. I'll be able to answer it next week, though. If PPCS ordered some units from us directly, they're going to have to wait until the shipment lands in the US, which, at best, is 2 weeks away. More reasonable will be late February.

I guess add me to the list of waiting for this case. Will be very happy if it gets here earlier than april.

Yep. I guessed the same. One week to leave the factory, 2 weeks on the boat and another week to make it across the US.
4 weeks = Late February like the other Corsair rep said at CES 2011.

Another month of waiting.

Does anyone have an ideas as to what the maximum length the video card can be if I wish to keep all of the hard drives?

Many thanks!

Any card we've tested fits. The 6990 will fit - I believe the available room is either 330mm or 340mm - but I'll double check when I get back to the office next week.

I wonder when Corsair will release their 2nd Generation 800D (USB3.0 Support).

We'll be putting the USB 3.0 upgrade on the website for people probably by next week, along with the SATA 6Gbps upgrade. These can be done very easily with just a screwdriver and a few minutes.

They will both eventually be "rolled in" to production on 800Ds. This won't be a 2nd generation, just a rolling change. We are looking at future modifications of the 800D but nothing is finalized enough to be public yet. :)

So will the USB 3.0 use the new header or will it be the old pass-through ones that plug into the back i/o?

Still the old pass-through initially. Because the headers are relatively new we haven't had time to verify speeds on them. The pass-through is the only way to guarantee full USB 3.0 speeds and signal bandwidth at this time. We're in the process of validating the new internal connectors but it will take a while before we can verify it.

A perfect case finally!

One more question, is the front panel dust filter easy to clean?

Really two questions: first, will the 650D right side panel also fit on the left side? Second, is it possible to get a replacement for the right side panel I plan to damage in a failed modding attempt?

Darn it. Reading through all the Sandy Bridge mobo reviews it sounded like the headers were pretty standardized and ready for prime time.

The might be, now. But developing this stuff takes months - and when we started working on verifying this the internal headers weren't standardized and we didn't have eval units to verify the performance.

USB 3.0 is very finicky with cable length, cable quality, and all sorts of stuff like that. USB 2.0 was easy, signal degradation was low, but with USB 3.0, good cables aren't cheap.

Oh my god, I was just about to buy the 600T, it was already in my cart on amazon. Good thing I alt-tabbed and was looking through the case thread.

@Redbeard: What are the chances this will become available in white like the Graphite case?

Same here, been eying the 600T for quite some time now. But I think I'll wait for this one. :D

Not very good - painting aluminum like the front panel would kind of make it pointless to make the case out of aluminum. That being said, it might be possible to do a plastic or painted steel front panel, but right now there are no firm plans.

Too bad you can't anodize white (currently impossible).

The closest you get is with a dust finish that will scuff rather easily, a clear coat would be a gloss "white" (really a silver since its aluminum) finish but would cost a pretty penny I would assume.

A Dust/Matte finish doesn't scratch anymore easily than a polished surface... but it is true you can't anodize white... but if you bead-blast aluminum and anodize it clear you can get close to white, but not anything like true white.

It would be cool if Corsair tried some other color patterns, it's not cost effective though if you notice how LianLi bumps the price on their custom colored stuff because they do it in smaller batches and it costs more as a result. It's not because they're trying to charge you more, it's really because it's cheaper for anodizers to do stuff in large batches. I'm sure a modder will eventually send off their aluminum parts to an anodizer (I think I saw someone with a LianLi that did that a while back )
