Corsaid K70 RGB Pro - $49.99 (down from $159.99)

Funny you say that, I'm also a die hard Logitech (mouse) fan lmao I've never had a peep of trouble w/G-Hun tho (knock on wood). *But* I tend to do the same thing with it that I do with iCue: set profiles, commit to hardware memory, and never go back. Trouble with iCue (for me) is that it works perfectly for a months then one day just doesn't detect a fking thing except my keybaord despire uninstalls, reinstalls, reboots, etc. Even used Revo to remove it and reinstall and still have issues. This week I reinstalled iCue to a different directory and violla; no problems since. Makes sense to me!!

Yea, I've been using logitech mice for ages. Mx500, G9, G9x, G502, G502x, etc...Among a few other models thrown in those time frames. Loved LGS, it's been fantastic for me...But wanting to go wireless with everything has forced me to use G-hub, which has been nothing but problems. Although if you do use their Onboard Memory Manager software and just commit and forget...No problems at all. Unfortunately for me, I need app detection profiles as I use different buttons on my mouse for different functions depending on program, so have to run G-Hub as a result.

I have to say though, Logitech has certainly fallen down the chain. My older mice were all built like tanks in regards to durability and reliability. I'd end up getting a new one as I wore them all down. But this G502X is having a random double click issue on my back button. Looking online, seems like a lot of people are having double click issues with newer Logitech hardware....really unfortunate. Going to have to setup an RMA most likely.

Yeah with as many Logitech mice as I've touched one thing that I've experienced with their higher end mice (G502, G502 Lightspeed but not w/my 073 Lightspeed...yet) is double clicks. I've had 2-3 G502's replaced now b/c they start double clicking. I will say tho that I've 100% stuck w/them b/c there support has been nothing short of excellent having taken care of each instance w/o hassle and getting me a new mouse sent out right away. I will absolutely stay loyal to a company if they take care of their customers which Logitech has proven to do to me (ymmv ofc). They even replaced a mouse b/c while it was still entirely functional the color blue died on the RBG mouse and they replaced it straight away. Credit where credit is due.

Oh nice, fingers crossed it was smth as simple as that!

SIde note: after typing on the K70 RGB Pro for a bit I'm starting to really like the sound of it. I'm glad b/c hearing smth when typing that you don't like would drive me fking nuts haha
False alarm. It is happening again. Oh well!
I totally agree. Sounds and feels much better than my old MX brown switches.

Corsair has 2 tiers of refurbs. Certified Refurbished, which has a better warranty and includes most or all items that come with new, and the Revival series which cost less, may have shorter warranty and generally will not come with extra items other than maybe a usb cable. If youre ok with not getting a wristwrest or other accessories, possibly something that hasn't gone through as thorough a refurb process, it's a good deal. I'm pretty satisfied with the 2 Revivals I got.

Looks like the OP's K70 rgb pro is back in stock for $49.99

I got one of these $50 K70 RGB pro refurb keyboards. I have thoughts. Came from a K55 which I liked but some of the keys were really starting to stick, tried to clean it several times but didn't improve. Going from a membrane keyboard to this thing was a massive shock. I will say that it is beautiful and the RGB lighting is vastly superior to the K55. It took me a few days to get used to how sensitive it is though, just resting your fingers on the keys can trigger them. I am not typically a user of keyboard wrist rests, but a guy from a different forum convinced me it really helps with this one. I just use the one from my k55, it's almost the same size and same color, it looks like it belongs. BUT the K70 rest uses magnetic clips and the K55 rest has little plastic tabs. So it doesn't really "attach" to the keyboard, just sits in front of it. I have to reposition it sometimes as it moves around a little. Supposedly you can buy the K70 magnetic rest from ebay for $25-30. Not sure I'm sold on that yet.

These keys are freaking LOUD. Wife can hear me typing in my office when she's in the living room. I have tried to go softer and slower to lessen the noise but still. I ordered some clear o-rings from Amazon for $5, hopefully they make a difference. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N75JL0F

My biggest gripe is the volume wheel. It sucks. It is WAY too sensitive and even just accidentally bumping it can send your volume rocketing up to 100% and blasting stuff off my desk. I have Klipsch Promedia, I have the volume set at a certain level on the speaker (I don't like to mess with the speaker volume knob too much, they are prone to issues on the Promedias) and I control volume in windows. On the K55 you have up and down buttons, easy enough. But this stupid wheel, if you are not SUPER careful just going from like 6 to 10, it'll jump to 50-100 really quick. I found this program called "Quiet on the Set" that lets you set a maximum. So I set a max of 20 and set it to start with windows. You have to reset it every time you reset your pc but I put mine to sleep more than full power down.

I have found the volume wheel works a little more reliably if you push down on it and roll it slowly with pressure. I push down really hard with my thumb and roll it slowly until I get where I want. If you just flick the wheel it goes insane.

So I'm still on the fence, let's see if the o-rings help me out. Now that I know how to control the volume wheel I can live with it, but I need to get the click clack noise down.

7/10 stars, 8/10 stars with a wrist rest. Crossing fingers on the o-rings, if it solves problem it might go up to 9/10.

Oh and iCue? I already had it installed, it's a little funky but you don't have to use it if you don't want. You can do most of the color options directly on the keyboard, google the commands I can't remember off top of my head.

Refurb comes in a plain brown box with a usb-a to c cable. that's it.

edit - forgot to mention I work from home. This thing is WAY too loud to use in a office group seating area. I would strangle my coworkers if we were in open seating and 20+ people click clacking away all day long.

Thanks for your feedback, kinda funny how my internal review basically mirrors what you said.

Couple things:

- If you think about it, when you get the orings in and installed pls let me/us know how they do. If they reduce some of the noise, or even change the pitch of it, I will be ordering a set. I've thought about 'em before w/other keyboards but never really looked into how well they actually work

- On the volume wheel: I will try your approach in using it with a little bit of pressure b/c I to personally *hate* it compared to the Core version of this keyboard I came from. One thing that I found helped in my case is every once in a while just give that volume scroll wheel a good spin up and down. I feel like that almost gives it a "reset' if that makes sense. It's probably not the right word but yeah tldr it has helped in my case. I do now, tho, prefer a volume knob with some kind of a tactile feel to is vs frictionless.

Yup, that's my biggest gripe, also near life long membrane user, that clacking really hits hard if you get into a groove typing stuff. Also as I mentioned before there's a slight ringing sound after hitting each key, almost like a reverberation from a spring of some sort. One of the main reasons after testing it out, it went back in the box and I'm just sitting on it waiting to use it. Let me know if those o-rings do anything, that may be the saving grace for me.

I feel like this was a FOMO/luxury purchase for me, as I really don't know the reason why I need (hint: I don't) a mechanical keyboard, hell I don't even know the standard use case for it. Is it for gamers who need to get massive inputs per second?

One note I'll add is the K70 Core RGB (which I "upgraded" from to the RBG Pro listed here) honestly, for being a base model...has a much better typing experience imo. The sound is day and knight different and MUCH more pleasant to the ears. Ofc everyone enjoys a different keyboard sound so YMMV.

Got them in today. Kind of a chore to install, time consuming. I ended up doubling up on the A-Z and other common keys I hit a lot, enter, space etc. I did singles in the 10 pad but doubled on the enter. Singles everywhere else except I skipped the F key top row. There were 120 rings in here and if you want to double up everything then order 2. I think I made a good compromise just doubling up the heavy hitters. There are tons of different o-rings of different thickness, if I'd known I was going to double up ahead of time I might have ordered the thicker ones.

It is DRAMATICALLY quieter. And I like the little bounce it gives the keys so they are not bottoming out all the time. Something in between mechanical and membrane. They are clear and there is no effect on the RGB lighting, but I don't think it would matter anyway since the o-rings go in the keycap, not on the switch where the LEDs are.

So for five bucks? Hell yeah try it. If you hate it you're only out 5 bucks and time consumed to install. I didn't even use my key puller, just a small flathead screwdriver to work an angle a little bit, then the caps pop off with finger pressure. Noticed that some of the big keys (space, enter, shifts, numpad + and enter) had THREE pegs but only one switch. On spacebar and enter I did 2 each (6 per key) on the others I did 2 rings in the middle (the actual switch one) and singles on the outside/support pegs.

Wife even noticed the improvement!

Not really. I mean, I'm sure that some people do perform better in games with them, and Logitech/Corsair/Razer/etc. marketing will tell you unequivocally that you'll have the advantage over other players because they want to keep selling peripherals that make every feature seem like a game changer (no pun intended).

But back when mechanical keyboards first became popular, it was more about typing feel and durability. Plenty of folks were tired of replacing their cheap membrane keyboards every few years because they wore out, became spongy and mushy to type on, or accumulated gunk/grime and were difficult to clean. That was well before mech boards started getting "1337 g4m|ng" features, but even back then there were plenty of folks who noticed (or said they experienced) improvements when gaming and greater accuracy when typing.

O-rings installed. Still testing but initial impressions are better than stock for sure. Still had the higher pitched sound but overall it's better. Will take some time to get a good feel for it tho.

oh hey I ran into an issue and thought I'd share. My system did an iCUE update today, then told me my k70 rgb pro keyboard firmware needed to be updated. It says not to use a USB hub, so I plugged it directly into my pc. Failed, failed, and failed again even after a reboot. For shits and grins, I changed to an old USB 1 (white) port. Worked like a champ. I made a note to remind me next time.
