Core i7 3700S 65W p0wnage!!!

Strange. I thought we quit using the term "faster" based off clock speed improvements a long time ago given it can represent both spec-to-spec or real-life scenarios. I hope it actually performs better than 27% faster on most applications given Intel's been saying for a couple years IB is expected to be 18%+ faster than SB clock-to-clock.

i wonder how nice the chip OC's - how nice does the 2600S oc with a locked multi?

It will overclock as far as its turbo boost allows, which is typically around 400 mhz or so.

Its not so much faster due to the new arch, its mostly faster because the new clock is 15% higher than the 2600s (3.2ghz vs 2.8) and because it has a higher turbo speed. The clock to clock gains vs the old arch are just around 7-9% avg (excluding IGP performance). Again IB is basically a die shrink of SB, and massive performance boosts are not usually expected from die shrinks.
