I have one 570 now. Looking at the Asus IPS 23" panel (3x1920x1080)

You think jamming in another 570 will be enough? I've read widely conflicting reports. I'm not willing to go to 3 cards right now (board won't support it, neither will my PSU or my wallet) but I could probably do the 3 monitors + video card.

Has anyone run it on this setup?

If you want to run BF3 in 5760x1080 with the eye candy turned up, just wait for the next gen stuff.

i doubt that 2 gtx 570's will run bf3 properly, theres this pc at scorpion technology, its display pc is 2 x gtx 570 and one game, bfbc2, lags at 5760x1080, most setting cranked up, which is y they get games and tone down the settings to make it look good
IMO, amd cards are the best for multi display set-ups, they have more GPU memory, 2gb vs 1.28, and has more speed on the core and frequency clock. if u stuck another 570 into ur setup, u'll needa get a bigger psu and perhaps ur CPU might become a bottleneck

A 750w PSU can't handle two 570s?

I have this exact same question, but have been too lazy to make a thread for it. Pardon my semi-threadjacking...

I plan on going multi-monitor with 3x1920x1080 monitors, but realize that my single 570 won't cut it. I'm considering just selling my 570 and buying 2 6970s for CF. Any advice on that if I want to run high(ish) settings and get good performance on current and near-future games?

I realize next gen cards are rumored to drop in Q1-Q2 next year, but I doubt I'll be upgrading to them unless I'm completely blown away (both in performance and price). Realistically, I figured I'd wait til then and see how their release affects the price of a 6990 and just tri-fire with that and a 6970.

if you are set on the 570's, get the EVGA 570 GTX 2.5GB. 2 of those should drive that setup well. overclock the 570s and you will be set.

thats if you are in a rush, if you can wait, just get the next wave of cards. maybe nvidia will give reference designs more vram

I'm running GTX 570 SLI with a 2600k @ 4.6. It plays BF3 at 1080p 75FPS+ x16AF 4msaa HBAO like a dream but if you want to go triple monitor wait for next gen. BF3 really likes GPU.

I can confirm that 2 570's will not push BF3 maxed at a triple monitor resolution.

I am running 2 580's OC'd to 900 each on the rig in my Signature.

Running the game at my native 3772 x 1920 (portrait 3 X 1920x1200) was playable with no AA and no AF. But by playable i mean 30-40FPS no action, regularly dipping into the teens in heavy fights. It was good for taking screenshots, but thats about it.

I dropped to 3322 x 1680 (Portrait 1680 x 1050 X 3) and have been playing flawlessly at about 50 + FPS (NO AA no AF) The game still looks amazing though. So with 1 570, i would sit on one monitor and hold off until the next gen if you want to ensure you can at least max your resolution.

vram is what's keeping you from playing ok

Im currently playing the beta and im getting 40 to 60 fps with 2 580s 3gbs at 6080*1200
All ultra

with out AA goes to 1.7 gb vram
with AA max goes to 2.7 gb vram.

No overclock stock clocks at 832 mhz

Here are my fraps results with my 2 570s at 5760x1080 rest of rig in sig all stock clocks

First outside area
Min 19
Max 74
Avg 50.059

half of this bench was in the metro half was in the 2nd outside area

Min 18
Max 84
Avg 48.073

2nd outside area has the largest drops while inside the metro seems to run the best

Settings

textures ultra

aa post off
motion blur on
blur amount 50

Come the next gen cards I will most likely upgrade so I can runs setting higher

Still, that's not too bad of performance. Seems like you could push some of those settings a bit higher and still keep it at 30-40 FPS average.

but his mins are already below 20fps. Where will they be when his average drops by another 10fps? This is where the graph that [H] reviews use comes in useful. Plus thats just Metro, how will it run on the other maps/64 peeps?

im getting 65-75 fps at 5040x1050 and two unlocked6950s, and my quadcore at 3.9, max settings

What AA settings are you using? That's the reso I'd like to run at, but I didn't think I'd be able to do it this gen without breaking the bank. Two 6950's on the otherhand is well within my budget and PSU's capabilities.

Just wait until next gen. Even though the 6950/70 has 2GB VRam that isn't the only factor as it isn't much more playable even then.

OP 2 570s should work fine for nv surround, however you will be vram limited and would not be able to use Deferred AA and achieve acceptable performance on that type of setup. The good thing is there are options for post process AA. Those are FAR less memory demanding and you may get away with medium to high on that setting which from what I can tell works very well in the game and dramatically reduces aliasing.

I have to call BS on this. With my 2 6970s and a SB @ 4.7, I average 40 FPS at 2560x1600 on default Ultra settings. You're pushing 30% more pixels; there is no way you're magically getting 65% more FPS than me.

Yeah I would agree. Running ultra with low aa, no hbao/ssao, and no post aa, and getting in the 50s with overclocked 590.

I dont think 2 570s would come even close to cutting it, maybe on all medium, but to me ~30-40fps on SLI plays like total crap.

I run tri sli 570, on bf3 everything maxxed on surround vision 5780x1020 60hz max aa and settings and i avg 40-50 fps in it. I run bf3 on 3 27" led monitors.

3dmark11 basic score is p14352
