cold boot issues

I have 2 computers based on the p35 chipset.
Both of these computers have cold boot issues.
When I go to start them up they won't post, the fans power up and everything but I get no post beep from either.

To get them to start up I need to turn the power supply off then on again, this usually works.
I have done all sorts of trouble shooting to no avail.
I have the most up to date bios on both.
I have tried clearing the bios several times this has no effect.
By clearing the bios I mean that I unplug the psu's, and take out the batteries.

System spec's are
P5k deluxe wifi
Q9450
4 gig Gskill pc 6400 hz, four 1 gig sticks @ 400 fsb 1:1 2.1 volts
4870 512 stock
Corsair 750 tx
This computer is overclocked to 3.2 ghz
I have used this system for well over a year and had no problems whatsoever until recently.

P5k EPU
e2180
4 gig Gskill pc 8000 two 2 gig sticks @ 2.1 volts
8800 gts 640 stock
OCZ 520 psu
This system is at stock settings.

I have searched this forum for answers and I have searched Asus's forum but I find no answers.

This is not the dual boot issue I have experienced with every P35 board I have worked with.

Once the systems get started up they work flawlessly, no problems restarting or anything.

Does anybody have any ideas?

disconnect the hd's - see if they cold boot then.

I tried that and they both did the same thing.
I disconnected all of the drives from the mb and psu.
But once I turned the psu on and off they both started right up...
The P5k EPU gives 1 long beep then 3 beeps, the P5k deluxe give no beeps.

Any other suggestions?

1 long beep then 3 short beeps is memory failure in some way.
You may have memory from a faulty batch or it may be getting too hot.
Reduce 2.1V to 2.0V and see if it improves.
Try single sticks in different slots to see if you can locate any faulty modules.

Failing that, try some completely different ram.

Does Asus have mem compatibility problems with Gskill?
This would make sense for the P5k epu but the P5k deluxe has been running fine for well over a year with the current memory.

I do have another set of memory but it is Gskill also, but it is new.
I will try your suggestion.
Thanks

Can't remember if that's keyboard or video error code?
