Fun fact: In case anyone is using google translate is wondering why that article has a lot of references to toothpaste, the closest equivalent phrase in English to describe Intel is "they are squeezing every cent out of the consumer base", pretty much similar to what happens when you are trying to squeeze that little bit of toothpaste when you are at the end of your tube.

But, it does sound like intel is milking the market dry, at least if looking exclusively at the chipsets, maybe CPU might be different?

On the bright side, Intel milking the market means we may finally have an Intel consumer socket that lasts longer than 3-4 years before a new socket arrives.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Hopefully Coffee Lake CPUs will be backward compatible with Z170. If so, I'm golden.
