I'm not at home, so I haven't had a chance to look, but the thought came into my head just earlier. Is there anything to start a dedicated server without actually starting the game? I'm asking because I want to connect to the server remotely to start it, and every time I tried starting COD2 to run a dedicated server I kept getting the 'first time running COD on this computer' message, then I got some DirectX error and it just crashes. I'll check it when I get home later tonight (probably 6+ hours from now), but until then I figured I'd toss this out there and see what everybody else has to say. I've already done a search through multiple sites/forums but haven't really made any headway. TIA
