Hey guys, just curious about these 2 heatsinks:
CM Hyper+ 212: $30 CAD
and
Noctua NH-D14: $90 CAD

Both are (what what I understand) considered very good for Air-cooled tower heatsinks. The CM Hyper+ 212 is a classic and is a LOT cheaper. The Noctua is known for it's excellent performance but costs the same as something like a Corsair H80/H90.

Both would have maxed out fan's (2x for the CM, 3x for the Noctua).

Does anyone have experience with both? Is the Noctua really worth the price difference? Obviously the Noctua will perform greater, but will it only net me a couple of degrees C?

For clarification, if I bought one, it would be paired with a Xeon W3520 (equiv. to i7-920), and would be overclocked as stable as can be made on air. Case is a Corsair Carbide 400R, so plenty of room and airflow.

I dont have either, but running the 212 EVO with a push pull right now. The push is my Cougar fan in my sig. The pull is the fan that came with the cooler running at 60% from the bios settings. I think my temps are damn fucking low for a 4.6 3570k. Throw the EVO into the mix.

It comes down to costs:
If you can afford it, go for the Notcua.
If you can't, then go for the Coolermaster.
