Clean install following new motherboard?

If you remove the drivers, the OS should survive, if the mobo you replacing has same or similar chipset, than it should work as just fine.
 
You guys are still stuck on Windows XP. Like it was said before the Windows 7 HAL, if you want to call it that, is completely different than XP.

Break out your Windows 7 DVD's, and mount the install.wim, think you'll be surprised with what you see.

If you're really worried: prep all the drivers you'll need for the new board on an USB drive, then right before replacing uninstall all the drivers, etc that are for the old board. Swap, and go.
