Can join mine if you want. Just 800 trophies required for us at the moment. Clan is "Ballzack" with the Black and White shield. Just identify yourself from [H] when you request to join and I'll accept you. ;)
 
Word of advice for starters, DO NOT spend you're gems to rush jobs, you will want your 3 workers for 500 gems, save them and take out tree's and rocks when you can.

Indeed. I saved up gems for my 3rd and 4th builder with achievements and clearing debris from my area. The 1250 and 2000 trophy achievements that give you 250 gems allowed me to do it pretty easily. You don't have to be very strong to get the trophies, just go after farmers (like myself) that leave their town halls outside their walls. It takes a while to do it, but it's not hard. You'll definitely want to drop your trophies (by attacking and surrendering immediately) quickly after you get the achievement though, else you're going to be raped by everyone else at that higher trophy level.

Saving up for a 5th builder too. It'll take a while, but the only other time I use gems for anything else is when they have the collector boosting sales for 1 gem a piece going on (they did it for throughout December for Christmas and for a week or so before Clan Wars started). I haven't spent any money on this game and don't think you have to if you're patient. I actually kind of like waiting for upgrades and stuff as it kinda forces you to take breaks as you wait for builders to free up. But you can keep raiding if you want, you'll just be at more risk of getting attacked if you're sitting on a lot of resources.
 
I made the mistake of blowing the gems early. Ironically, now that I'm willing to throw $5 at the game for another, it's bugging out and claims my Google account is not authentic.
 
May have to join up with you guys... I've been playing since last august now am addicted haha every friend i show it to becomes addicted as well... Even my gf haha
 
Looks like I need to get up to 1400 trophies, dang!
Started out getting a decent economy going and now am having fun getting started with battles.
I didn't fall for the spend gems early trap either and have enjoyed my 3rd builder :)
Any other tips for someone starting out?

Don't make the mistake I did: Be choosy about who you attack. Low hanging fruit usually becomes an economic burden, because you spend more on troops than you loot. Look for targets who are clearly saving up for an upgrade.
Also, don't go TH-upgrade crazy. Upgrade everything and then upgrade the townhall.

only lvl 4 TH right now, upgrading everything else as it becomes available
upgraded my barbs to lvl 2, and will have lvl 2 archers tonight :)
 
Yeah, I don't spend any gems on anything except builders. I got 4 builders with achievements and clearing debris alone and am 1/4 way saved up for my 5th builder (which is 2000 gems) so far. But there's a couple 200 gem achievements within grasp and I seem to be getting gem boxes every week or so, so I don't think it'll take too long to save up for. The only other times I use gems are when they have the collector boosting sales. Occasionally they have a sale where you can boost all collectors, barracks, spells, or hero's for only 1x gem a piece. So I'd upgrade your collectors as much as possible so you get the most out of those boosting sales. They did it for the whole month of December and my base ramped up pretty damn fast in that period, hah.

Also, the best loot seems to be in the 1200-1400 trophy range, I think. So I'd try to stay around there once you make TH 6 or so. I'd recommend building a farming base too, as it will keep you shielded most of the time when you're not attacking, allowing you to save resources a lot more.
 
Somewhat late to the party but is the [H] clan still up and running? Just downloaded this a couple of days ago and slowly working my way through newbieland.
 
FYI, you don't need an Android or iOS device since you can play on a Windows PC device using BlueStacks. Works great on Surface Pro 3. You just need a Google account to download CoC from Google Play Store.
 
I love clash of clans, have been playing non stop for a month now. But you guys should really check out Boom Beach if you guys like clash of clans. It's made by the same people, except you use soldiers and guns.
 
Damn. That BlueStacks is what I need for home. Trying to attack on my phone sucks. Anyway. 1000 trophies so far. Will be hitting up your clan, T4rd.

Cool man, just make sure to identify yourself from [H] when you send your request. We get occasional requests from random people online and if no one knows them they don't get in. We have about 23 members right now, most of which are my friends IRL, but Modred is with us too, so we stay pretty active.

It's a decently active clan, Ballzack, and folks seem pretty nice. Thanks again for the invite and allowing me in T4rd.
Just got healers, lvl 4 archers and now Minions, so this War is going to be a different monster than the last few for me. Still learning how to manage those air units vs the anti-air rocket emplacements, since they don't fall to a 2x lightning strike like a mortar does.

Alright, ill take you up on this, thanks. how do i join up? I found Ballzack but join button is greyed out. Am elleana on there as well, level 21 at the moment with 549 trophies.
 
I need an [H] clan. HELPS!! Someone lower your trophy standards, I'm now at 1081.

Just dropped trophy requirement down to 800 for you all. Get up there Elleana! Hah.. would prefer you're at least TH6 or above since that's the lowest we have at the moment and we have a handful of them. I'm getting close to maxing my TH8 besides the walls right now.

Will be a while then, could get to 800 trophies easily (700+ now but am a bit wary of advancing only to get owned by higher level people) but am on TH5 with no gold, not sure how to get 750,000!

Do some battles until you feel you have too many trophies, then simply start battles, commit one soldier and then surrender. You can drop a whole bunch of trophies that way (~20 each time). This allows you to manage your level, and what players you get paired against.

Also, be choosy as to whom you battle. Only fight those players who are stockpiling gold. i.e., if you see their TH is under construction, move on.

One of the best ways to do this is to look for bases with mines or elixir processors hanging out on the periphery of the base. Drop an archer or two to pick them off from outside their defense's range so you can at least make a profit while sacrificing trophies. You can make several k from badly designed bases. Doing this also lets you learn about the range on various defenses first hand.
 
I'm taking a break from this dtess. I'll come back to the clan when I have time again, probably this winter.
 
This game's pretty fun not that I've figured out what I'm doing :D Currently TH lvl 4, about half way through maxing everything out

I've gotten 500k gold and elixir before and still got a defeat. You get 1 star for 50% damage, 1 star for town hall, and 1 star for 100%.

its need less to say that this game is addictive. now when you can boost mines with 1 gem to last a week its going to spike my village a whole lot. this promotion of boosting is because of coc's 2nd anniversary and hit me at the perfect time :) :)

Helios Rising doesn't work in iOS search.

You sure that's the correct clan name?

Well its not the official [H] clan but have been playing for a while with T4rd and Mordred and a couple of other [H] players. Everyone's helpful and friendly and I've been having a blast. Clan is called Ballzack and while I don't presume to speak for T4rd pretty sure they'll be happy to have you!

Thanks for letting me know.

I've been in a clan for a while now as well... fairly laid back & relaxed. A bunch of family members are in it. Brothers & Sisters, Husbands & Wives, BF/GFs etc.

We've actually been trying to add some adult members but I wouldn't mind seeing what's out there kind of thing.

I'll take a look for Ballzack.... LOL
