I have a Cisco 2501 EN model router. I want to upgrade to a newer IOS (12.3) so I can run IPv6. But, it only has 8 MB of RAM, so I can only upgrade to 12.1.
But, here's my question. Can I use ANY 8 MB SIMM (as it has a 8 MB module already)? Or does it have to be a Cisco SIMM module? I have a LOT of older 72 pin SIMM's, but the Cisco one costs $50. For that price, I can just buy a whole router on eBay.
Thanks!
EDIT: BLEH! Nevermind. I'm retarded. It's 80 pin. My bad. GRRRRR. Off to eBay!
