Hi,

I recently had a Cisco 2516 router pass into my hands, and need just a little information on it. Is it possible to hook the ISDN BRI port (which looks like standard RJ45) into a cable modem or other ethernet interface instead? Silly question I know, but it might make a useful low-end setup for something I'm doing. I don't even want to bother hooking it up if I can't use it for this, as it won't be worth my time trying to reset it, upgrade the IOS, etc.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

erm, to answer your question...no!

an isdn bri interface is just that, an isdn bri interface! you can't do anything with it other than hook it up to an isdn line!

sorry for being a bit blunt!

Sorry there...I was on low-caffeine mode when I asked this question earlier. Chalk it up as a D'oh! .
