Thanks. I shot an email to the wife. If she approves, my son will get a new train set. He keeps breaking the wooden on apart and I haven't had time to put it back together for him.
 
I'm not very well off with kids, but I have a 2 year old nephew. Would this be a good gift for him? Or is he too young?

It should be..My 2 yr old nephew LOVES trains and this is what he is getting for Christmas if it helps.
 
I told my girlfriend we are getting a trainset because they were on sale. I got this look, and she said "We are NOT getting a trainset!" I responded with, "It's for my nephew." "Oh...okay!"

She thought the trainset was for me, lol. I'm a kid in a man's body.

But I ended up getting an ELC Liftoff Rocket, that thing looks pretty sweet.

Picked up a set for my 2.5 year old. Hopefully it's sturdy enough that he doesn't destroy it.
 
ok... picked up 3 playset , and added 20% more off by using FRIEND as a promo code..

In canada those playset are pricey

was enough to split the cost of the shipping.
 
Thanks for posting this.... going to see if my 4 year old likes them as much as I think he will. If not, ebay.... for that price I should be able to come close to breaking even I'd guess...
 
No, and I'm getting grumpy about it. I will call them today.

There was a message on their website last week that in order to get it before christmas with regular shipping speed, the order had to be placed by Dec. 9. Since we all ordered before that, it shouldn't be a problem, but the lack of email communication from them bothers me.

I'm on the phone with a customer service agent now. Apparently they do not have the Brewster's Big City Adventure in stock. That item is delaying shipment of my order. She stated that they expect to receive the shipment on Dec. 17, and it would ship out the next day. However, the order will not arrive by Dec. 24; even if you had paid for express shipping. She said that UPS needed ground shipments by Dec. 6 and express shipments need to be turned over to UPS by today. Since the item won't ship until Dec. 18, the fastest (express) shipping they offer will arrive after Dec. 24 now.

She offered to ship the rest of the order now, so I accepted. I also pushed and asked politely that they provide express shipping for the Big City Adventure at no charge. She spoke to her manager and agreed to send it express shipping, but it will arrive after Christmas.

It's really poor customer service in my opinion that they oversold items they didn't have in stock and won't be shipping them for another week AND didn't notify the customers of the delay.

My youngest just turned 2. Loves Chuggingtons and Thomas. They are a good quality from my experience. Built to take a beating.
 
Well i dont mind , since im buying this for my daughter for her birthday on wich is january 12.

i will try to call them and get some freebies :D

It really is insane how much amazon changes prices. They were asking over $100 when I posted this thread.

TOMY still hasn't shipped my set, but amazon charges tax. TOMY is shipping my BIg City adventure today, and without tax, it's effectively the same as amazon with tax right now.

So if guys like amazon, it's a great time to buy this one set now.

I got everything I ordered except the Big City Adventure, which they are supposed to ship today... but we'll see. If they don't ship it today I might be out of town by the time it gets here.
