At best, they're one "generation" behind. Go watch the videos from this year's MAKS air show.
Not if the appallingly over-budget and under-performing F-35 strike aircraft is any indication.
They have too many men there. War is the riches way to thin the herdAn all out military confrontation against the US by anyone would end in nothing less than Armageddon. There's little logically to be gained by such a conflict.
The United States are a several generations ahead militarily of China and Russia, our closest competitors.
Plus with all the hacking going on and stolen military secrets, do not put it past the US to use honey-pot Trojan Horse servers to distribute schematics / designs that provide some type of back door access / shut-down feature.
I was kind of thinking that this was some type game promo.
The video was entertaining but I highly doubt anyone in the Chinese military really believes this to be the case.
I loved the video showing them shooting of 15'ish SRBM's super close to one another, yea super smart.
The United States of America isn't unique in needing a crop of bogey-man type characters to keep poeple fearful.
Some times you get to be the bogey man!
The number 1 factor that makes invasion of the U.S. a very bad idea by anyone is because it is the most armed place in the world door to door and has always protected our freedom and why we have never seen a invasion force as it is another standing armed army that is never thought about as defend..
Fight for your rights to bear arms to protect freedom.

Some sort of scary golf related man?

Hypothetically speaking... if the US were to go to war with China, would the US borrow more money from China to fight China? It's like a mother giving her child money, so the child can get her a gift for mothers day lmao
The only reason why the US is "miles ahead" of others militarily speaking is probably because the US spends more on military than the next 13 countries combined.
And most people don't know that Russian SSM and ASM missiles are superior by a decent margin. They can't afford to go all out on all military niches but missiles are what they specialise in. SAMs also they do pretty well with too.

That was on the level of 2009 rendered CGI. Not impressed.
About the "standing army", 98% are almost worthless. A couple of hunters who shoot a few times a year won't matter much. The few with military training (not firearm manipulation classes, actual military training) aren't enough to make much of a difference. They'd also need to be equipped with gear and appropriate weapons. Semi automatic rifles aren't going to cut it.
An update on the article calls out Chinese gaming company QQ/Qzone as a likely producer of the video.
The article also mentioned that the island appeared to be Okinawa, not Taiwan.
Repeating my youtube comments here:
>USA's defense on land is one plane blowing up mid take off
>Battleships, subs and one aircraft carrier, which have ICBM's, don't fire back at chinese forces
This isn't just bad, its laughably bad.
Also remember everyone China is in a huge PR battle right now with their population and have started a mass propaganda campaign to increase "National pride" by stating that they won World War II.
So it's fine for us to make movies about invading random countries even random countries invading us. Another country does it and there's a problem?
hmm, yea, the F-35 that is more threatening to its pilot than anything else? and which was it that needed air conditioned hangars? F-22 or B-2? can't remember.
I'd argue that major cities could cause an invading nation quite a bit of trouble with some organized gangs. Also, lets not forget that a huge portion of the Marine Corps are along the west coast. I know as a veteran, and a lot of my brothers would agree with me, that if a foreign army some how established a beachhead on the continental US, there'd be a mass migration of veterans towards that beach head.
Problem is mainly equipment, logistics and command as you'd probably guess. I'd imagine many veterans are out of shape (old ect.).
We'll worry about that when an adversary can field a blue water navy worth a damn.
Just carpet bomb those Chinese locusts with nukes until the entire country turn into a wasteland. No one would shed a tear.

The Tu-50 was pretty awesome.
The Su-30m with its insane thrust vectoring was absurd.
I know the response to this: we have better electronics. We thought that in Vietnam too, so the F4 didn't have a gun. That was a rough lesson.
Considering the F35 Boondoggle II just got it's ass whipped by an F-16 I'd not put too much faith in American aerospace superiority right now, it's there to pad the pockets of Boeing and Lockheed not defend the nation.
Others covered the rest. No country has the logistics to invade the US, and every other navy in the world is a sad joke compared to the US Navy. No one is close to beating the USN, and if Canada was invaded we'd come to their assistance. Same with Mexico. But no one has any plans on invading the US.
