ThinkComputers just highlighted some of the best case mods they found in 2018. Among other things. the site showed off the clean, proffessional "Zeus 2.0" build inside a Case Labs Magnum SMA8, a Cougar Conquer with an Egyptian theme, a ROG themed build inside Lian Li's PC-O11, and a custom case that looks like a bomber from Stargate SG1.

It was completely unplanned to have Cap-Ten featured twice in our Best Case Mods of 2018, but when it came to scratch builds his was our favorite. The "Goa'uld Al'Kesh" build is themed after the Goa'uld Al'kesh bomber from the TV series Stargate SG1. What is so impressive about this build is that even though there is a full watercooled system there it really looks like the the Goa'uld Al'kesh bomber. The quaility on this build is just amazing and he even made "guns" out of Bitspower fittings on the bottom of the system! Be sure to check out of full feature on Goa'uld Al'Kesh.

I like a clean, professional build. I really do not get anything out of slapping a computer on a model or sculpture. I appreciate the art of the craft, but sticking components on something does not make it...the same as a computer case.

Agreed. A hint about ad blocker is one thing but that site's insistence had me clicking the red X to close.

Still liking it so far. This is after running 2950X full load for 45 minutes with only a LiqTek 240 exhausting out the top.

Seems to be getting the heat out very well.

Man i wish i had flir, i always had to make do with leaving thermal sensors all over the place.
It do the same but just snapping a picture are so much faster and actually give a better perspective.

There is some impressive work listed. I wish I had that kind of ambition at times. I'm more of a "I got it up and running, it's good to go" kind of fella.

I'm not into the liquid fancy tubing stuff mainly because it's prohibitively expensive hobby but the Case Labs Zeus 2.0 looks fantastic; well done but the article said Case Labs went out of business last year.

I think the general problem for many a aspiring modder is they work with the new hardware they just got, and so don't really have the time to put in the big ideas and work.
But in all honesty a case mod are not defined by the hardware used in it, it is defined by the work and ideas put into it, so in reality you could make a cool mod with your old stuff.

I know its the problem i have always had myself, and also will have when i get the XT 20 chassis to work on, i will just have to make some form of template on my Gigabyte X399 aorous extreme to make wire and routing of water cooling which i will do in hard pipe for the first time.
But it will still in a large degree come down to a 1 - 2 day crunch to put it all together, and i cant do without internet for longer, and there are no way in hell i will look at my phone screen for more than 5 minutes a day, no matter how bad my internet withdrawal symptoms are.

In my case it will be a little while, cuz i do have the hardware minus GFX card now, and the cooling loop though at the moment i only have a dual 120 mm radiator, which are a bit low for my 1920X at least for the load fan noise i would like.
So i need 2 new radiators - cooling head for GFX - one more pump / reservoir - pipes and fittings for hard line.
And all of this i will have to find money for out of a not impressive Danish pension, so cant rush anything for sure.
And for painting stuff i can no longer go to my old place of work and powder coat parts for free, so will have to make do with wet paint,,,, which are also the kind of painting i am educated to do, and besides you cant powder coat some things, so wet paint are probably best just i have worked in ALU and steel for so many years.

For years i have had a Mercedes 190 EVO body for a 1:5 on road gasoline RC car i have wanted to put hardware inside, imaging spinning fans inside black wheels for cooling ( no problem housing a ATX motherboard and PSU in there 1:5 RC cars are pretty big.
Only problem is it is one of the old 3 part bodies i have, but really i should not complain as i got it for free, a 1:5 RC car body are not cheap, anyway have been sitting idle collecting dust for a decade now.
As you can see room to work with in those cars.

1:5 on road race wheel Vs 120 mm fan, so yes the mod will have big rims and low profile tires for sure, but not something that will look all that stupid in the wheel arches of the body.

Likewise. Had my blocker said it was blocking under 10 things and they asked instead of insist I would have loaded their ads. But when it says its blocking over 20 and they insist... good bye.

These are cool and all, but I'm not into PC as an art form.

The best PC is never seen nor heard. We don't need this RGB vanity windowed nonsense.
