I've searched but it doesn't seem easy to find a cheap USB-PD Laptop. I'm looking for something the kids will use so specs really aren't important. Ideally I'm looking for sub $400. I found a couple Dell models in the $500 range but figured I'd see if anyone had recommendations.

What are your use cases? Chromebooks fall under that power delivery and cost often. If you need Windows I sure there are some out there but the pickings will be slim.

Tablet or Chromebook - maybe an old Surface. But they’re not as durable.

You can find cheap Lenovo T440p's on ebay. (under $200) They're workhorses (they're basically older model business laptops) and everything can be swapped out on them super easily. LCD, cpu, keyboard, etc. You can find the docking station under $30 that gets you all the ports like multiple display ports and extra usb's.
