i'm looking at going dually (i can get a 2nd 2100+ pally free in a bit) and i'm wondering which board to get. i like the looks of those two but i'm looking for hands-on experience and whatnot. i'm open to other boards, but i think those two look coolest

i also have heard mention of a (rumor of a) barton MP chipset coming out. has anyone heard about this? still wondering about the motherboards tho.

The MP2800+ and some of the MP2600+ are barton core processors.

They run at a speed of 133mhz for the front side bus though.

AMD has no plans to invest anymore time or money in the K7 series chipsets. The only reason they are still producing the K7 CPU's is because the K8s haven't settled into the market deep enough yet.

Yeah I noticed that. You said barton chipset when barton is a term that refers to their processors, I assumed you ment a chipset that can run with barton core processors (my post was stating that it can).

The chances of a new mp chipset are almost nill.
