Im using CDex 1.51 to rip my cds to harddrive. im gettin a bunch of jitters though. upwards of 300 per song. does anyone know what causes these jitters and how to fix them?

Watching someone use CDex yesterday, I noticed that the jitters seemed to correlate somewhat to the condition of the CD.

The other thing of course is if it's a copy protected CD, that 'cactus spike' or whatever it's called, that introduces deliberate errors which could quite possible come out as jitters.

Or your cd drive may just need a clean, buy one of those $2 cleanign cd's with the little brish on them.

It might be the CD itself, the CD/DVD drive, or other programs hogging up resources and memory. Try another CD and see if it does the same. Also, try ripping without other programs running in the background to free up memory.

When I get jitters I just re-rip that track. Even the most stubborn songs work eventually.
